grace--I read it, too. But I have a short, snarky attention span, so let's blame that!
He is just consistently charming. Loved that he mentioned ML--he hasn't said much about it in recent interviews and he seemed to really share a lot of his frustrations regarding it. All I could think of when he mentioned heartbreak re: 3R, was: well, yeah, you were a cardiothoracic surgeon...sorry, slipping back into snark mode again.
I was disappointed to not see any comments posted! What am I turning in to???

Go on Fleur, post some yourself.
Also, AOL got a lot of press here in OZ about saying he 'hated' the love scenes with J-Lo. What a beat up!

It's so easy to misinterpret things....what he was really saying is that he hated doing love scenes in general (they're bloody awkward and embarrassing), not anything specific to JLo. Yet I'll guarantee that somewhere, somehow, it will be seen as Alex dissing JLo.

I read an article today that stated that he supposedly said doing the love scenes with her was: "awful." I didn't post that link, because it was a tiny, not very well-written piece and not from any kind of entertainment outlet I have heard of.
Knowing him as well as we do, I am sure that it was taken completely out of context and this site just ran with it. He probably said it jokingly and they printed it as fact. That was the only thing I've read that stated anything remotely negative whatsoever.

the press he got here for that comment made it sound as if he did mean that working with J-Lo was awful. It was only when you stayed to watch the story that they finally gave the context around it, and it turns out that guess what, he didn't mean J-Lo at all, but the horrible process of pretending the kissy stuff in front of like everyone when all you're wearing is a sock. and it's not on your foot.

This is what he was quoted as saying:
"Really, it''s awful and anyone who thinks filming sex scenes is hot would be wrong," the Daily Telegraph quoted him, as saying."
This is what the headline I read was:
"Alex O'Loughlin Unimpressed By Jennifer Lopez's Awful Sex Scene"
I was disgusted.

I just hate to see my darling Alex smeared in such a way.

Me, too
PGal. I guess the good news is that some of these outlets deem him popular enough to subject him to the rumor mill! Unfortunately, he will probably have to deal with this kind of b.s. as his star is rising.
To make yourself feel better, go back and read luxe's post about Alex commenting on the sock! It will put a smile right back on your face. It did mine!

I saw the interview Alex and Jennifer did (during the media day for BUP) where both of them said that doing love scenes in general is (something along the lines of) awful and weird. Alex has also said that when you're friends with someone, especially when she's married and you're friends with her husband, it's extra weird to do love scenes with her. So... jerky people looking to get lots of hits will twist that into something ugly about Alex's attitude toward doing love scenes with JLo. In reality, Alex has said many times that doing love scenes is icky and weird, so IMO, the article saying anything specific about JLo was just mean-spirited and ugly.

I can see how that might be uncomfortable.
Like Fleur said, at least they find him interesting enough to smear. I guess nice guy who has an issue with sexing up his friend's wife doesn't sell. Let's face it, the media wants stories of Tigers and cougars and bares, oh my!

Welcome to celebrity.
And while that journal did him, and JLo, a disservice, MOST of the press he's gotten has been more above-board and positive. But if he does get more famous, he'll get a lot more of that cr@p. I'm sure they'll root into his past, try to ferret out stuff about his kid, his love life, the rumors that he is gay...

...
But I imagine he knows that... and in fact, that is likely why, on the Jimmy Kimmel show, when JK asked him the snarky question about meeting JLo, he refused to say anything negative, even as a joke. Cos in print, it would appear different from how he meant it.
Tho it IS a shame that his home press seems to be the least supportive. Don't get that... maybe that crack he made--forget which article--- about not having any embarrassing Aussie soaps on his resume irked the home team???
