I have also seen some speculation today that this episode might be the season finale. PLEASE treat this with scepticism - as I say, it is pure speculation.

While I love the thought of Alex closing out the season for Criminal Minds, I doubt that's the case. Looks like the episode on the 29th will be the first episode to air during May sweeps. Most likely, there will be at least 2 more new episodes before they have their season ender, which will likely end on a bit of a cliffhanger, sort of like what they did last year. But with all the SAG strike-related issues still at play, anything can happen and they could end the season with this episode. Guess we'll know more as the days tick off.
