Re: The Ringer (Episode Seven)
Josef didn't get to be 400+ years old by being stupid or by not keeping secrets. I've always felt Josef knows MUCH more than he lets on about quite a few things...Coraline, Lance, the cure.
Keeping Mick in the dark about Coraline must benefit Josef somehow...I've always wondered how.

Exactly. Mr. Paranoid knows Coraline. How can all this be a surprise to him?

Mmm, I'm not sure how much Josef knows about Coraline still being alive - but he certainly did overplay the "you're crazy, Mick" angle. Having said that, I loved this scene - Josef has that big brother air that I adore and you can telling that he's enjoying being the calm, sensible one.

Maybe he enjoys rattled Mick as much as we do...redwinter101 wrote:Mmm, I'm not sure how much Josef knows about Coraline still being alive - but he certainly did overplay the "you're crazy, Mick" angle. There is something very fun about Josef being the one to tell Mick to take off the tin hat and stop spinning conspiracies. Josef telling Mick not to be so paranoid. Hmph.

Yep, GA. He is the one with the secrets!!! Mick is pretty much an open book as far as Josef knowing everything about him. Josef just looked like he was caught with his hand in the cookie jar when it came to the whole Cora thing.

Re: The Ringer (Episode Seven)
The Benz pulls up to Matola's house. Josef isn't crazy about the neighborhood. Mick tells him that, next time, he'll find a Beverly Hills thief. They get out quietly and Josef asks if Mick is sure it's Matola's house, the 'alleged' killer. Yeah, that would be him - the guy in league with Coraline. So, now he's 'in league' with Coraline, Josef asks. That would be correct. Mick does his vampire jumpy thing.

Josef is not as keen. He wants Mick to let him in the door. Mick shushes him. Josef wants to know if they can hire someone to do this stuff (I love this line because it's Mick that gets hired to do this stuff). Mick doesn't even give him a response. Josef takes the leap and lands a little inelegantly (rusty?).

They get in and start looking in the living room. Josef is his usual snarky self and makes comments about this being how the little people live and the vinyl recliners having 'crazed killer' written all over them. He takes a seat in said recliner while Mick looks around and asks if he's not going to help, could he at least be quiet. Josef says he'd love to help but he has no idea what they are looking for. Mick hands him a framed photo. It's of Matola and a woman. The murder victim?

Josef snarks that the photo is like Mick and Coraline but worse. And sarcastically, he suggests that maybe Coraline staged the relationship of the couple.

Then Mick finds a book. It's the same one that was at Morgan's bedside. He shows Josef who quips that he couldn't finish it - too French for his taste. Mick opens it and inside is a key (? looked more like a bottle opener to me). It's Coraline's favorite book. At least this gets Josef's attention.

They move to the bedroom. Mick looks for a safe while Josef sniffs the linens and bounces on the bed.

Josef watches as Mick checks the closet and finds something. Voila! A safe. The key fits. What has he found? You guessed it - a bag of cameras.

Cameras stolen by a guy who's been dead for three weeks. Josef's finally taking this seious and says he has to get eyes on Morgan for himself. Mick agrees.

GA---those pics highlight one of my most favorite things about ML: the Mick/Josef interaction. Josef was a royal pain in the a*s in this scene and funny as hell! And these 2 just seemed like either an old married couple, or bickering brothers!

Re: The Ringer (Episode Seven)
Any scene with Josef and Mick is a good scene, but this one is a particular favorite of mine - actually the interaction between Mick and Josef is what makes The Ringer one of my favorite episodes.
Josef sniffing the linens and bouncing on the bed just cracks me up - that's something my mother would do.

Re: The Ringer (Episode Seven)
One of my favorite scenes in the entire series... AND notice the extraordinarily cute jacket that Mick is wearing...
My SECOND favorite jacket...
And so many cool lines... including Josef's remark about the book being "a little too French for me..." So Josef. So unapologetic.

Re: The Ringer (Episode Seven)
As agreed, Josef is present at Mick's office when Morgan comes by to see what Mick found out. As soon as she enter, Josef is on the alert. I absolutely love his facial expressions in this scene. He seems totally perplexed by Morgan. She enters and Mick introduces her to the elder vamp as his associate. They shake hands. Morgan wants to know why Mick called her, the suspense is killing her.

She asks what the surprise is and Mick tells her to "come over here". He tells her to go on and open the box. She comes to the desk to do just that as Mick and Josef exchange looks. Josef is mystified.

Josef walks up behind Morgan (I assume to take a whiff) and walks away.

Morgan is surprised to find her cameras in the box and asks Mick how he did it. He pushes the photo he has on his desk (of Matola and his girlfriend) towards her and asks if she recognizes the guy. She says that was him, the thief and that Mick is amazing.

Mick says it was nothing special. His prints were in the system and the cameras were stashed in a safe at his house. She wants to know who that is in the picture. He tells her he presumes it's the woman who burned in the fire. The thief was her boyfriend. He killed her and set the fire to cover it up.

She figures that the thief then went after her because he thought she had incriminating evidence. Mick says they'll see when the police get a match on her molars (and he does the sexy biting thing).

She figures that's that. But Mick says not quite. There's one little catch. Josef hands her Matola's death certificate.

The date of death is three weeks prior. The guy was dead when she took the pictures.

Morgan assumes the guy faked his own death. Or he rose from his grave. No, he must have faked it.

She wants to know where he was buried. Mick says he was cremated. Josef says his ashes are at Hollywood Forever.

Morgan says they should go to the cemetary to see if the remains are there. Mick thinks they should let the police handle it. Josef says she got her cameras back - the case is over.

The thief is a dead guy and they're not curious? Morgan can't believe it. Neither Mick or Josef seem to know what to say. Morgan says they can't stop now.

LOL! I loved this scene! The guys' expressions were hilarious...they thought themselves so sly and slick, when all the while she had the upper hand!
