Yes, he does look a bit different these days. But that's kinda his M.O., no? One of the reasons I LOVE his acting so incredibly much is that he acts differently (tone of voice, pitch and register of voice, walk, movements, hand motions, even typical facial expressions of the character) AND he looks different (hair style and color and cut, body shape, with or without more or less chest hair, more or less muscley), in every single role. He's a total chameleon. I think that's one of the reasons a few husbands around here haven't filed divorce papers... they're not totally sure they keep seeing the same guy on the home screen.

He is always gonna change. He will age. He will change to match a current character. Probably a current mood, and even tho he is cheeky and Aussie and independent and all, he does follow fashions. And I don't think he's "sold out" and gone Hollywood so much as he's trying to actually keep a job. Ya gotta pay to play in LA. And they've told him to rip-up. So he did. Looks fiiiiiiine to me. But hey, his world, his work, his choice if he decides to fatten up for some role someday too.

Most of all, tho, it's the Alex on the screen... being Mick or Vincent or Andy or whoever... that we all like the most anyway. He's not an underwear model or a Guess Jeans model... I don't see ANY of us oohing and ahhhing over those kinds of peeps anyway. We love his acting. But I don't think, personally, that he's ever looked less than handsome. He knocks me DOWN!

And no offense my darling girls, cause I know in the end, you love his acting too... but I'll critique his looks when I send him my pic and tell him to rip away... which scares the bejeezuz out of me to even ponder!

(ETA: and it's not (just) his looks that get to me here... it's the idea of a guy being that amazingly supportive... it just makes my heart go all smooshy...)

Once we get his fiiiiine behind back on-screen... just a few weeks from now for all of us, whatever country we're in... we'll all be falling in love with his latest creation. That's how it works. He works; we're in love. He's on a hiatus of some sort... we fret. We stew. We get hyper. Forlorn. Bored.

Crazy. He drives us crazy.

Hi Alle and Ms. Grace! Please don't mistake the meaning of my post. I wasn't meaning to critque his looks, I was just concerned that he looked under the weather and a wee bit sad, so I was worried about him. He'll aways look drop dead gorgeous to me no matter how he changes his look or ages

Hi JV! I, too, posted that I've been worrying a little bit about our dear Alex...I think he's beautiful and talented any way he chooses to look, but he just looks thin and tired and a bit worn out these days. But with his schedule lately, no wonder!

I don't know how he does it, but he manages to make me feel mom-like about him at the same time he makes my heart go pitter-pat and my knees weak. (It's a gift he has...)

And grace is right... we do get a bit crazy when he's not on our screens... and now that I'm counting the days (soon it'll be hours!) till I get to sit in the audience of the Jimmy Kimmel Live show next Monday evening... I'm like this:
