I found out about it through a group of Moonlight fans here in Southern California (we're the SoCal Freshies!). :giggle: Several of us are going.

It's a public event, so anyone can go. There's a registration web page to get tickets. I'm sure I'm on the Donate Life America mailing list now, but they are a worthy organization so I don't mind. And I'm already an organ donor.

And it would, indeed, be the COOLEST thing to see Alex. If he's there, I just pray that my hands aren't trembling so hard I can't hold the camera still to take pics! :fingerscrossed:

Think perpetually cool, honey... you'll be just fine.

We've known for a while now that CBS would have to re-shoot some scenes from CBS's Pittsburgh-set "Three Rivers," and now comes word from the L.A. Times that plans are afoot to re-shoot all the scenes filmed at the closed Brownsville Tri-County Hospital.

It's actually not that surprising. They were going to have to film a lot of new material because of re-casting issues, so why wouldn't they re-shoot all the hospital stuff to make it match? We already knew they'd be building a hospital set in Los Angeles at Paramount studios because they're not filming episodes beyond the pilot in Pittsburgh. It seems like the Times is making a mountain out of a molehill (They also get the show's cast wrong: Joaquim de Almeida was in the pilot but won't be in the series.)

So far indications are other scenes shot in Pittsburgh will remain in the pilot. And I suspect some scenes shot at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center that are supposed to take place in the hospital will also be kept. The look of those scenes didn't really match the blah Brownsville interiors anyway. I would guess that whatever hospital set they build in Hollywood will look more like the more modern convention center interior and less like Brownsville.

Mr. Fleur keeps asking me where I want to go to celebrate our anniversary. Do you think he'd have a problem with Pittsburgh?? LA???? Me going alone????

Not like I have an ulterior motive or anything........

Grace and Fleur, you two seem to be joined at the hip anyway, I wonder if Mr. Fleur hasn't noticed that yet.

(totally OT: When my sister married they spent their honeymoon in a lodge in Canada. I so wanted to go with them, they had three bedrooms, so there was space enough. :hyper: I even volunteered to cook. That probably was the final straw to say no. Pity.)

Shaking with happiness here, because I was having my coffee, perusing the Chicago Tribune, when I turn the page, and see a picture of Alex and article about 3Rivers!!! YAY!! The article is about the filming being moved from Pittsburgh to L.A.--which I know has been mentioned before, but there was something so cool about seeing it in print in my paper that just thrilled me!

Don't know if it's been mentioned before, but they are adding recurring characters--specialsts and a social worker. One of them will probably be a love interest for Dr. Andy. As a former social worker, I am pulling for that gal to be the one who hooks him!

I thought when the pilot was filmed in Pittsburgh, the casting people tried to recruit some actual medical people from the area to be extras. I think one was on this board. Wondering if anyone more familiar with the industry thinks they are likely to do that in LA? I know we have at least one nurse in the area.

So thrilled, that it bordered on ridiculous. Imagine just sipping your coffee, ho-hum, reading the paper, then turn the page and.....There. he. is.

Was very happy.

Still am.

Hmmm... putting this here altho it's not technically about 3R....

Our young neighbor down the street just died from waiting for an organ transplant. None of us knew she was that sick... I'm not totally convinced her family understood. She was in her early 20s and not living at home anymore, so I think they realized she MIGHT get to needing a transplant, but I had chatted with her mother recently and got no sense of urgency about it.

Sad sad sad... she was my kids' first babysitter... years ago. She apparently died in the hospital and they were searching for whatever it was she needed... I think it was both liver and kidney.

Anyway... I think this is the first person I know who died from not getting a transplant and it is awful... she was such a lovely girl! So maybe the show WILL help raise awareness of the need...
