Due 2 NFL overrun, start of primetime lineup in East/Central Time Zones (60Min, Amazing Race, 3 Rivers, Cold Case) delayed 25-30 min.

So on CBS's own Tweet, they inverted Cold Case and 3R? Or is 3R now airing at 9:30 in stead of 10:30, cause if so, gotta totally go RE-do the whole Tivo thing... work work work work work work work... :phew:
:rolling: :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:

Seriously, can you do a manual start to Tivo, if indeed they have re-arranged the start times again? I know I'll be sitting there with my finger on the 'record' button.

I dunno darlin'... I can't figure it out. I can make my tivo record longer... up to 3 hours longer, but I cannot figure out how to make it start later. So I get stuck with 30 minutes or more of TAR that I don't want... but small price to pay, I guess. I'll survive.

Luckily for us on the West Coast, Football hasn't impacted us so Three Rivers always started on time. Now, this 10pm thing with Three Rivers being switched for this night only with Cold Case. Well, I don't know about that because having it start an hour later when folks gotta work and go to school. I fear that will bring the ratings for 3R down even further plus with the American Music Awards on tonight, everybody will be watching it. Except me of course and you guys.

I understand that CBS wants to do this little experiment with switching times with both shows just to see what kind of ratings 3R will get and that they wanna put the show in a time that has less competition but still. :noway:

But I am dyin to know what the ratings will be for tonight's ep tomorrow.

I enjoyed the episode. Not as much as last week's but I still enjoyed it.

My big question is why did they wait so long to start getting into Andy's interesting backstory? It seems a little late.

Agreed on both counts... interesting ep but last week's was just SO spot on...

And realllly interesting back story! Andy was a little Artful Dodger and his uncle a manipulative Fagan... Andy was SO conflicted and bummed... and the ending! Oy!
Tho given the way they've been doing things, they'll possibly drop the whole Uncle Mike, and his creepy muscle man, story next week... :slaphead:

I don't know, grace.
Spoiler:
According to the press bundles describing the episodes, "uncle Mike" shows up again in the December 13 episode, as does Rena....that could make for an interesting family reunion.

Apparently "uncle Mike" is Michael Zelasko, so he might be a relative on Andy's mother's side.
The good news is that they've gotten rid of the multi-color transition panels and that the story was decent, with a lot of screen time for Dr. Jordan.

Better news is at last, we're getting to learn more about Andy....and some of it might not be so good (which is actually good, 'cause Alex plays a guy with a dark side real well). St. Andy can only go so far.

Is it me or is anybody else reacting to the names of the characters. Beth? Long blonde hair, no less. Having Andy say Beth's name was just a bit creepy. And Michael? We've had a Mick already (on the rugby field). It just seems a bit weird.

But no Joz'f's... so far. :rolling:

I gotta think some of this is coincidence. Michael and Beth are fairly common names and did any of these writers actually watch ML? Besides, apparently some of the guest stars have been from L Word and Jericho... but none from ML... if they really wanted to pay tribute, they could hire Jason for a spot.
Spoiler:
I would be delighted to see Michael AND Rena back again... and in the same ep! Yeah, pretty much an Andy nightmare... she IS a cop after all.
And now Andy is into him for some cashola. I love that. THAT"S drama.

Prepare to sigh. A lot.

Here's a delightful new interview with Alex about TR (and other things), posted on YT by GreenEnvy (from alexoloughlinfan.com). Thanks to mwj for the heads-up. Enjoy:

OK, seriously...
Spoiler:
The couple of the week were named Nick and Beth?! C'mon!! I sense the heavy hand of Carol Barbee here.
That being said, I liked this episode. It was about overcoming the negatives of the past and moving on. Of course, Andy's past sounds like it's gonna keep haunting him for a while, and that's good... because we all know that Alex does rattled reeeeeeally well.

I'm so surprised! I really enjoyed this episode, and paid attention. A couple of things made my heart go pit a pat- when the name "Beth" showed up on the phone, and Andy in a jacket with the collar turned up! I can't help it.

I discovered I liked the 10pm time slot better than the 9. Maybe because the day has wound down, finally. The show has lost its frenetic pace, and has settled in, and the stories are more even. Everyone's character is more familiar to me and I like them all. It's a bit like watching ER (the theme music reminds me of ER); you just get caught up in everything without effort. I'm liking the comfort level I"m feeling, similar to the comfort level I feel watching NCIS. It helps that they got rid of the gels and the jerky/zoomy camera shots.

Loved Jordan in this one, and Andy's intriguing past. There's enough there now to knock that pesky halo off Mr Perfect and Bland; I find it exciting! Even Andy's civvies are suddenly a little less conventional and precious. Overall, a gooooood ep, IMO.

Though TR started out chaotic and rough, it's so clear it is being continuously refined. It works for me! And I do love those moments of delicate grace in every ep. So unusual for current dramas, and so refreshing. I guess TR is actually growing on me :helmet:

Um... yeah, I sighed a few times. And cringed a couple, too, but.. mostly I cringed for OTHER people. Which makes me feel slightly better about the parts where I sighed.

My take is that I don't see how that would have worked. Here we have been treated to a persona that seems so perfect and compassionate and caring. Some of us were even bored by him. It's kinda like real life- you see the surface first, and then you start to see the layers. I don't think Andy is about being the bad boy, and introducing his background at the beginning would have disoriented the viewers, IMO. It's important to see the healer first, because that's what matters. And then it's fun to see how he got that way.

ITA. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. It had great flow, the mix of stories worked AND we got some insight into Andy - not just in terms of the past but who he is now. Loved the ending - creepy Uncle Mike was wonderful. I love the whole "you can never leave your past behind" theme. And I hate to say it, but I was glad they cut down the amount of time spent on the original donor's story - it left room for the development of the rest of the story.

Wow! The most affecting part was when he spoke about the fans. So much emotion. Just. Wow.

Eh. I gotta find something to not like about the guy. :Mickangel:
