Ok... apparently it is up to ME to bring this sucker back on-topic... cause our MODS have no capacity whatsoever to exert self-control it seems... :giggle:

So I've been thinking... which I do on rare occassion... and I've been thinking about Alex's movie... which I do more often that one should like to admit and also which I do while folding laundry... (and yes, even on Easter I am having to fold laundry as my family apparently wear several outfits every day which they then deem irreparably unclean... )...

And I speculate...as that is what we do here in the movie thread, mods  ... that Three Rivers will get a pick up as a mid-season replacement... The movie is set to open in January, yes? If he also has a new show starting in January... then CBS can cross promote. Making each potentially more successful.

Ok... ball's in your court... I got us back on topic... you are welcome.

Please, no tomatoes, :tomato: but I have a question

grace - you say that Back-Up Plan is due out in January (I believe you, really, I do), but I've seen the studios play games with release dates (WB decided to string out the Harry Potter franchise just a liiiittle bit longer by delaying the release of HP 6 to July 09 from Nov 08. When they did that, the Twilight folks moved their release up to Nov 08 to take the HP6 slot...

that said, when was Whiteout supposed to be released originally? I've lost track and hope I live long enough to see it.

May whatever forces that rule the universe (or the movie industry) allow Back-Up Plan to be released in Jan. 2010 :hearts:

BTW - I agree with the possibility of TR being a mid season replacement if not picked up for the beginning of season. But boy does that screw up an actor's ability to plan and look for other roles. :banghead:

And Dark... I know absolutely NOTHING... I was just messing... I don't even watch much tv and rarely go to movies... I mean it... I know nothing. :giggle:

When "Back-Up Plan" gets the green light to film, we will be in a better position to speculate as to a potential release date. I believe that White-Out's delays are due to the inherent problems with that film. I don't think it screened for test audiences all that well, and there have been delays due to editing, etc. Not to mention, Ms. Beckinsale hasn't been too happy about the outcome of that film, based on the few interviews I have seen. (not that her opinion matters to me as much as the opportunity to see Alex sooner on the big screen!)

As long as BUP (awwwhow cute is that?) films on time, within budget, etc., I bet that the release date will be okay. There are so many rom-coms that get filmed and released, that I am hopeful that BUP will be successful as well.

Now, since I blew off so much steam and spent so much time typing about on topic stuff, allow me the latitude to say that I am extremely confident that 3R will be on the fall schedule. Barring that, a mid-season replacement is a great alternative, but I believe they are betting on it being on the fall schedule.

As am I!

Fleur,

thanks for the clarification on White Out and Back-Up Plan. Hopefully, they can both get released within our respective lifetimes.

For whatever reason, when you shortened Back-Up Plan to BUP, my tired little brain read 'bippity boppity boop' (that dates me) and sent me off into a fit of giggles. The reason for the fatigue is that all night, I've been trying to write just one little section of a story with a bittersweet MickBeth moment (in bed, no less) and it's just not coming (don't even think about going there).

I think it's time for me to throw in the towel.....

And Dark... Fleur knows a lot more about this stuff than me... she does watch tv (beyond MSNBC, which is most of what I watch), goes to the movies, and even watches the Oscars... I don't. I bet she watches the Emmy's too... I don't. Don't even care (tho I trust y'all will alert me if Alex is ever up for anything...AND I MEAN AN AWARD, FLEUR). Plus she whispers to Alex...

So go with Fleur. Don't let my posts upset you ever... :comfort:

There will be no towel throwing!! Glad you got a giggle out of BUP!! And how dare you type the above sentence and then tell me not to go there---do you know how impossible that is for me to NOT do??!!

As far as what I said about WO and BUP (that outta set you off again), most of that is just my rationalizations mixed with a few facts. I don't watch tons of television, but I am bizarrely intrigued by the entertainment industry. And politics. So, though I don't know a lot, I do know a little about a bunch of different things. Just enough to get me into trouble.

:offtopic: grace: please tell me that you watch The Daily Show? I can't remember if we've had that conversation or not. That is recorded nightly at the Fleur house.

Stop!!! Please!! bad enough that Back-up Plan turned into BUP, but White Out turning into WO? All of a sudden, these two movies turned into WOBUP, which inexplicably sent me off again....but it helped...the MickBeth moment is coming to a head.....

I'd comment, but I'm too busy rolling on the floor laughing.

Fleur always starts it...

And yes, Fleurette... I record the Daily Show also... it's Colbert that I don't find as funny... sometimes funny... sometimes just not funny...

If you will all kindly recall, it was the lovely DSR who started it all.

And red knows better than most, I will willingly rise to the bait, bring it to a head, and whatever other slightly naughty euphemism you choose to use. And I need no encouragement. (but gristing the mill--that just sounds painful)

And WOBUP sounds too close to that horrible Mmmbop song we were assaulted with years ago.
Mods note: still on topic as BUP has been mentioned.

grace--agree about the Colbert thing--I find his funniest moments only when Jon Stewart throws to him between their shows (another useless term that I somehow know) And perhaps Alex will be a guest on one of their shows to promote Back Up Plan (niiiiice, no?)

You lost me, ladies! :snicker:
But I refuse to believe that TR will not be in the fall CBS schedule.
And I could see Alex doing the talk show rounds promoting both the show and the movie.
Happy times :cheer:
