Sorry folks, but that photo shoot was the lamest crap I have ever seen. The heart on the chest, come on. The cleaver holding open his shirt, are you kidding? drawing a heart in "blood" on the background, fingerpainting? UGH....ALEX, please stop letting them do these things to you...do you want to be beefcake or an actor? Please learn to say No.
The interview was wonderful and he said some wonderful things which I really appreciate...but this other stuff...really worries me about how he is perceived, and the effect on his long term career...he really needs to get smarter about this.
Sorry if this annoying to you, it's my opinion.
ETA: My concern is growing, especially in view of the fact that Three Rivers was completely pulled from the Paley event tonight. Rueben says this has been done before, and no one there seemed too concerned, but the premiere is October 4th, they've already re-shot loads of scenes (which Carol Barbee talked about doing in
June at the Donate Life event), and should be several episodes in at this point, but they still don't have a first episode they're willing to show....?

WOAH!! I didn't know about this!! They aren't playing the pilot at Paley?

What is going on with this show?! They didn't put in the rugby scene and now they aren't playing at Paley. Okay, my stomach is twitching a bit.

I posted some caps of the interview from the video at
viewtopic.php?f=346&t=4376&p=103585#p103585
and Christy, yeah, not a word except that it wasn't ready....they substituted CSI: Los Angeles with Chris O"Donnell and LL CoolJ ....and even though some people didn't stay once they knew that 3R wasn't going to be shown, it was good to see everyone. ITA, I'd feel alot better for Alex if these types of things weren't happening...

O crap!! Can't this guy catch a break?
On the other hand, if they're still fine tuning the pilot, I'd rather see something broadcast that they're happy with quality-wise. That will attract and retain viewers.....

This article has a good mention of Three Rivers, and is also a pretty good rundown of all the new Fall shows:

thanks Red,
this provides some helpful views on other shows I was interested in as well (The Good Wife, in particular).
What's bothersome about the 3R comments is that much of the focus has been on Alex (even in the billboards, he's front and center), and not as much on the rest of the cast. I'll admit, I'm only familiar with Alfre Woodard, and she can go with the flow and hold her own, but I worry that both Katherine Moennig and Daniel Henney may feel pushed off to the sidelines. From what I understand, each of these two young actors has their own following....hopefully, the cast can develop a chemistry both on and off screen and make 3R a success.
I just checked the re-vamped (sorry) CBS page for 3R - the headliner, literally, is Alex....you've got to looking for anyone else.
I wish they (the network) could find a balance.....they wouldn't give Alex or Moonlight the promotion needed, and now they're promoting Alex and 3R heavily. Hopefully, their approach works.

Yes, CBS... a riddle wrapt in a mystery inside an enigma...
(forgive me Winston... and our British MickChicks...)

I agree that there is too much focus (and pressure) on Alex alone. This could be such a good ensemble effort, but they don't capitalize on the Kate and Daniel and Alfre fanbase. And they try to be quirky and fun, but it doesn't work with the premise of the show. All these reworking makes it seem like they don't know what to do with the show.
Same problem as with Moonlight, it seems. It's no classic procedural, so it doesn't fit, and they don't really know how to promote it. The "rushing through the hospital" promo shots were forced, and this ones, even when I liked them at first, are icky on second look. I wished they could make up their mind.

To me, one of the problems with that batch of promo shots, is that it's so...out of context. They're just on a plain background, and with no context, they look even more posed, and unreal.

I'm not sure I'd call Kristin's article, "promoting." She seems pretty lukewarm. And "pass" is leading in the poll.

Yeah, it's pretty lukewarm....if you are tired of Desperate Housewives or want to look for something different, she says it's worth a look. But I share her concern....how long can the premise of the series (organ transplantation) keep the short attention span of the tv watching public? Don't get me wrong, it's a tremendous cause and idea, but is it entertaining?
She does give a thumbs up to Katherine Moennig, though
