So has photobucket gone further? I'm noticing a lot of the photos with the photobucket watermark are now blurry. It isn't entirely consistent but we're now close to the days when we didn't have the pictures at all.

You've got a point there. It's most likely a tactic on the part of PB to make people PAY UP to store and use 3rd party sharing of photos if they have more then 2GB.

At first in June 2017, Photobucket quietly introduced a $399 annual fee to embed images on third party sites...not a realistic price.

Sigh... I've been noticing the blurriness for a few weeks now, but it seems to come and go. I'm sure it's a way of trying to force people to pay the fees.
