I believe his "holding talent contract" is up in June..if TR isn't a go (bite your tongue!!) then it doesn't leave CBS much time to come up with something else..Alex will be a free agent..

I am 100% guilty, like most of us, analogizing what CBS is going to do with TR, but we do know that Alex did sign a one year contract with CBS. So, they gave Alex, a large part in a CM episode, gave him a major role in there first movie production company, maybe that is good enough for his contract. Again, does CBS believe that Alex is bankable for a future hit or is he going to be like the next NFL player a free agent. I am just betting if that happens, a lot of networks are going to be wining and dining a certain actor.

Yep! I would imagine that a "holding contract" has certain advantages (steady paycheck with network support for work) but also disadvantages (inability to "market" yourself to the highest bidder for the most interesting projects..) Alex is sitting pretty right now..he made a wise decision, a good career move. His potential for marketability and profit can only increase at this point as he moves forward.. :yahoo:

Thanks, Jade. I'll leave it to the experts to ponder the ramifications. But I still struggle with the idea of Leno five nights a week @ 10pm.

So it begins! Pull up a chair, pour a drink, have a smoke, the second annual "TV Derby" is about to start.

Mwj, lost the nails last week, just wow two new medical dramas, is the year of the medical shows.... Could be a reason CBS did two medical pilots.

I'm surprised they they picked up Mercy. I've been hearing negative things about it and many analysts had it listed as a no-go. Just goes to prove that analysts can be very wrong. Interesting.... Other than that, no surprises. Pass the Tums, though. :?

Thanks for the info, Jade.

Thanks for the link, jade :rose:

Two medical shows! That's a surprise... And TNT is debuting a similar show in the summer about nurses.
I still think that TR has great chances.
