MY ADVENTURE SEARCHING FOR SONNY

I have Wikipedia to thank for this adventure. On Sun., May 16, I was playing on Wikipedia looking to see what the cast of Veronica Mars had been up to. Saw Jason had a new movie filming. Followed some links and found it was filming in Fort Worth. I live in Arlington (only about 15 mins. from downtown Fort Worth). This was truly a once in a lifetime experience! Everyone on the cast and crew was amazing!

High School Reunion - Thurs. and Fri., May 20 and 21 - TCU
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2 ... c506cf59e8
Cast present - Jason, Brian, Nick, Michael, and Minka (2nd night only)
Wore name take of make-up artist Heather Black
Michael Hogan walked behind me at one point and did the Col. Tigh chuckle!

Hospital Scenes - Thurs., May 27 - Baylor Surgery Hospital
Cast present - Masi and Jason
Masi and Jason each took a photo w/ the extras (only 5 of us that day) but we were told they were for document purposes and we would probably never see them. L I stood next to both of them and Jason had his arm around me. Gave him the little baby mittens I made for his soon-to-be-born son and we talked about how Moonlight was a head of the whole Twilight/Vampire craze by a year.
Pattern I used for the baby mittens - http://withatangledskein.blogspot.com/2 ... mitts.html
The yarn I used - Deborah Norville’s Serenity Garden in Sea (since I’d ready they are having a boy I thought this was a nice change-up from the traditional pastel baby blue) http://www.premieryarns.com/yarn.php?id=137

BriTANicK show - Sun., May 30 - Four Day Weekend Theater
Brian and Nick’s comedy duo put on a show. Watch them on you tube -
Jason made an appearance in the final skit along w/ director Andrew Disney
After the show I gave Jason the baby hat I knitted using the same yarn as the mittens. He hugged me and shook my mom’s hand

Prom (actually Homecoming Dance) - Fri. and Sat., June 4 and 5 - Trinity Valley School
Cast present - Jason, Brian, Nick, and Minka (1st night only)
Jason in a tux - enough said (but only saw from a distance)
1st night - Nick ran right behind me repeal while doing his nude scene (not completely nude - there was a front covering that went through many versions)

Backyard Barbeque - Tues., June 8 - Fancy house in Fort Worth
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3 ... 0195492312
Cast present - Brian
My mom was able to also work as an Extra this day

Dinner scene - Fri., June 11 - Ol South Pancake House
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2 ... 1214d030bb
Cast present - Jason and Nick (Brian wasn’t in the scene but he was there)
Free chicken fried steak at about 2:30 in the morning!!
Got to watch Jason and Nick film a scene where Jason walks out - amazing to watch him stay in character even when he is not on camera (he was reacting to Nick and even flipped him off at one point)
During the dinner break, Jason came over to the table my mom and I were at and thanked me once again for the gifts and gave me a high five. I asked him if he thought Logan ever knew about Duncan having Aaron “taken care of” on Veronica Mars. He said he had thought about it but decided Logan never knew about Duncan’s involvement.
We got to be in the background of the final scene filmed. After they called a wrap, Jason Brian, and Nick stood on chairs and thanked everyone for their involvement and said how much they enjoyed Fort Worth. Director Andrew Disney and AD Shawn Griffin also thanked everyone.
I was really glad Shawn was onset that night. My mom’s a big West Wing fan and I’d told her that the AD worked on it. She got to talk to him and find out some of his “shots”. She also got his autograph to put in her 1st season West Wing book (that’s the season Shawn worked on).
Kinda kicking myself now for not asking Jason if I could get a picture taken w/ him. Maybe I’ll be braver at the Premiere! ;)

OMG, Adanagirl, what an experience you've had. Welcome to the boards, and thank you for sharing that with us. :flowers: I feel like it's two degrees of separation at work, because you found out about Searching for Sonny through Wikipedia, and I'm the one who updated Jason's Wikipedia page with the information about the film.

The S4S team posted this link on Twitter and Facebook: With Sequels and Reboots Failing, Hollywood (Finally) Puts Out a Desperate Call for Original Material

Here is the first paragraph of the article from NY Magazine...

Conventional wisdom in Hollywood of late has said that you should stick to familiar brands when making movies. It could be a sequel or an adaptation of an old TV show, board game, toy, or crumpled candy wrapper, just as long as people already know it. So how’s that working out? In a summer season where only three out of the fourteen major releases so far have come from a new idea, attendance is down 13.3 percent from last season. Even with The Karate Kid’s surprise bounty, box-office revenue is down 7.5 percent, according to the National Association of Theater Owners ... and that is skewed more by 3-D gouging than anything else: Since the summer of 2009, ticket prices have actually gone up 8 percent. That’s why studio execs at Warner Bros., Paramount/DreamWorks, and Universal are now madly pinging agents and managers with an uncharacteristic, desperate, and welcome request: Send us your fresh material!

This is positive news for S4S!
