The question has been posed on Facebook: "Can you explain how the Kickstarter money factors in? What does to money go toward at this stage of the process?"

Their answer:

Searching For Sonny
The money raised from Kickstarter will help with post production cost such as purchasing music, sound mixing, color correction etc. These elements are vital to any film and they enhance the movie watching experience.

I know this can be a bit confusing so think of a film like a homemade birthday cake. Pre-production is where we gather the ingredients (cast, crew, locations, art dept., props, wardrobe etc...). Principle photography (what we just finished) is where we take all those ingredients, mix them together and voila! We have... cake batter (raw footage). Now this may taste delicious (especially if it's chocolate) but we still have to bake it. That's where the post-production process comes in. Editing the film together is basically "baking" the film. Everything comes together and now you have something that looks like a cake....er... I mean film. But we're still not finished... A birthday cake requires finishing touches... icing, sprinkles, big wax numbers, you get the idea. Without these you have a very bland cake that no one wants to eat. Same applies to a film. Sound mixing, color correction and music rights are the icing on the cake. Now we have a film that we're proud to show off to the world and people will be eager to get a piece of.

Hope this helps and please feel free to ask all the questions you want.

I think this is a fabulous analogy. Even though some of us would be pretty darn happy with cake batter and a big spoon...

That was a great analogy, Lilly. Thanks for posting that on here. :twothumbs: :flowers:

I've been trying to think where else I can spread the word on this movie. I seriously think I've run out of places I can go to.

Great analogy.
Maybe they will let us lick the batter off the spoon after they finished, meaning they show behind-the-scenes stuff and deleted stuff and such... :happysigh:

It's saw awesome to see the guys still getting so much support. :woohoo:

I've been so busy with the Donate Life Stuff lately, and keeping up with all the news of that, I haven't had time to be as active over on the Facebook page as what I would have liked. Now that things have settled a bit more, I should hopefully be able to get back in the swing of things, if someone can PLEASE think of some places for me to spread the word  :fingerscrossed: Seriously, I've run out of ideas.

Oh, but one miniscule bit of good news, sort of. Ok, so it's not like a huge deal or anything, but for all my sporfling about posting about the film to the ML Slash community, it did at least work, at least in some small way. I've recognised a few familiar names on the S4S Facebook page recently, plus I've seen a couple of community members spreading the word through other comms, and sites as well. So I suppose in the end, it was worth it. :twothumbs:

They're certainly not wasting any time. :woohoo: The first cut is far from a finished product, but it's really exciting!
