I can't begin to imagine how Alex feels...
I've been following some of the Twitter on the new NBC shows and "Mercy" is not high on the list for many of the reviewers..Ausiello says "based on the trailer..my tv will show no Mercy .."
Happy news is that Fringe on Fox is returning.

Not wanting to go

JIMS in a

I too have my

So, both Fox and NBC have already decided. Whys is CBS waiting until the 20th??
And

I like Fringe! It can be scary but it's different.

DC, Fox just decided on one show, Fringe, not their entire schedule. The three other networks are due to have their upfronts the week of May 18 (Fox's will be on May 18, ABC May 19 and CBS May 20). Until then we will not the fate of all the shows on ABC, Fox, and CBS BUT we should start hearing about pickups between now and then.
CBS should be picking up all the CSIs, the Mentalist, and Criminal Minds. However, I'm willing to bet we won't hear about the bulk of their dramas until a couple of days before May 20. Right now, 4 dramas are considered to be on the bubble--Without a Trace, Cold Case, the Unit and Flashpoint. Rumors say that CBS will pick up either WOT or CC but not both. The Unit keeps waffling between being "a goner" and "a long shot" according to Ausiello at EW. I don't know what they're going to do with Flashpoint. It's a low budget show because it's filmed in Canada but its ratings are abysmal for CBS. In the meantime, we wait and chew off our fingernails.

Now now, don't ya all get in a tizzy. Y'all are gonna give everyone an ulcer. CBS does have a Plan C for Alex if TR doesn't get picked up. (Well before, I used to call it a Plan B or a backup plan but it seemed CBS had already giving him the Plan B.

) So now the Plan C. The last thing Les wants is to have to deal with the rabid ML fans again so he'll give Alex a slot in an existing show if it comes down to it.
This is hearsay, pure speculation stuff so take it with a grain of salt.

The role of Dominic Vaile in NCIS: Legend is still wide open.
They introduced the new NCIS cast last week without Dominic, it seemed?

What wonderful news, Overdamoon. Where's your info from and can you confirm what options are on offer?

So does this mean that Chuck is a goner? Or are there still some shows undecided at NBC? I don't watch it myself but I noticed a lot of angry comments on that link. Takes me back to the bad old days I have to say...
As for the two medical dramas they've picked up. WOW, TWO! This is going to be the year of the medical drama I guess. Not to mention House and Grey's Anatomy already being on the air. How do those shows rate these days? Are they still strong contenders or on the way out?
So I wonder if Miami Trauma is like this Trauma, or if it will be based in an ER? So many questions and no answers.
My nerves are starting to unravel...
On the subject of what happens to Alex if TR doesn't get picked up - I still think he'll be slotted into the NCIS spin off, which is something Overdamoon and I have been speculating about for months now. There was one character in the show description that has never had a casting announcement, so it wouldn't surprise me to hear that at all. I can't believe that CBS would just let the contract expire after paying him for a year. The problem being too that even if Alex was cut loose from CBS, all the other pilots have been shot for other networks and there's a lot less for him to audition for. I really can't bear to think about that scenario so I'll just keep praying for TR, and then when that's picked up pray that it can compete with all the other shows on the air.
This being a diehard fan stuff is a killer isn't it?
ETA: And of course Lynne has showed up while I typed this with her wonderful hypothesis. Atta girl Lynne! (Still trying not to get too excited with our speculation...

All these Plans B and C make my head spin
What do we know about this Dominic character in the NCIS spinoff?
I understand why CBS wants to have Alex on but would Alex want to be part of this? My understanding is that he doesn't care much about ordinary crime shows. And he seemed so excited about TR in his last interviews.
This agony every year is not good for my blood pressure

Thanks, ODM - it does help to stick to screen names so everyone knows who's being referenced.

Whoa. This is starting to make my head spin, and before I have a Linda Blair moment, I am going to take a step back and just wait for CBS to announce that they are picking up 3Rivers before I even begin to speculate about Alex doing another series.

My head can only cope with one show at a time.

Sorry ladies, but the Plan C conjecture just sounds like gossip to me and is backed by no evidence. Do I hope it's true? Sure I do. But sorry, I don't want to see Alex plopped into the middle of an existing drama. That NCIS opening sure didn't sound promising, especially given that it sounds like a techo-geek position. Not exactly how I picture Alex's talent being used to its full potential. Unless they can ditch Chris O'Donnell and replace him with Alex, I don't think I want to see him in this show at all. And as for placing him in an already running show, with CBS cutting back on expenses and shows possibly already trimming talent, how do you think it will be received when they add Alex to a show that's already seen cost cutting measures? I'm thinking there will be some (maybe a lot) of resentment.
It's still a surprise to me that NBC picked up 2 med dramas, especially one so freakishly expensive. Considering this is a network that is majorly struggling, you do have to wonder what's going through their heads in the programming dept. First Leno five nights a week in primetime and then a $4 mil an episode drama. What are they thinking???
