an off the wall thought....if Alex's character in BUP is truly the man of JLo's dreams and she has already gotten herself pregnant with the help of a sperm donor....would she have picked the donor sperm on the basis of what her dream man would be? would Alex's character be the donor?
I hope not, because if I can figure out this plot line, they're not working hard enough on one.

I can't wait to see Alex..but I'm not expecting an award winning film..it is JLo, after all..

What if the sperm donor turns out to be Alex's character? Too predictable, though. I think maybe a better option would be to have it be somebody close to him who has since died (like a brother of his maybe killed in a car accident). And that way he would have a living descendant of someone close to him.

Hee! I was thinking the same thing. It'll turn out to be either his, or his dead brother's or something.
Why don't we have screenwriter jobs?!

Sorry, but I think the "believability factor" would go way down for me if they someone managed to contrive the storyline to make "Stan" the sperm donor. The only way it could be believed, in my mind, is that "Stan" could somehow manage to make sure his donated sperm was inseminated into J Lo's character. Way too contrived and far-fetched if you ask me. On the other hand, I don't find it hard to believe that "Stan" could meet and fall in love with J Lo's character and love her child just as much. Even if he's not the biological father, he would still be the only father the child would ever know.
Thats real life. If they distort the storyline to make "Stan" the father, the critics will eat the storyline alive!

True, very true... it's much better if he's not related to the donor. I hope they do it that way...

You are funny... you construct nice plots too... but surely this won't be part of the movie... too cuddly... tho now that i think of Alex and cuddly in the same thought...

but grace, if this is a romcom, cuddly is a part of the equation, along with some goofy misunderstandings and almost heartbreak, only to get the guy / girl of your dreams in the end. So cuddly? Yeah, I can see cuddly....and with Alex, that's not a bad thing.
as for my own plots, it takes a devious and twisted mind to come up with my convolutions
edited 'cause I can't spell

Jennifer's website has been updated we learn nothing new but i though that i'll post it anyway.
J.Lo’s expecting a baby!
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15, 2009 - 5:00 PM
That’s right, Miz Lopez is pregnant—in her new movie, that is! Jennifer just signed on for the lead role in the new romantic comedy “The Back-Up Plan,” where she’ll play Zoe, a single woman who turns to artificial insemination to answer her ticking biological clock. But her strategy goes bust when Mr. Right, Alex O'Loughlin (“Moonlight”, “August Rush”) shows up at the same time as her positive pregnancy test. Now she and her new dream man must figure out love, marriage and family—in reverse.
Director Alan Poul (“Swingtown,” “Big Love,” “Six Feet Under”) has signed on to direct the flick, which will hit theaters January 2010.
Filming is set to start start next month, so tell us what other actor you’d like to see make a cameo in the movie. Leave your suggestions in the comment section!

Yes, additional confirmation is always good!
And at least on this site they didn't write "Alex who?"

Ms. "Alex who?" is in for a pleasant surprise. She gets to watch and fall in love like us; caught us by surprise first, now it's HER TURN to salivate!!!
Assuming it is a woman---although there are some men ---but we won't go there.
