Oh yeah Sweetie... It's just a part of the CBS promo for 3R that is on the CBS web site... but this particular cut of it includes bits of the Alex interview, that they did for that promo, that were not included in the promo. The promo has bits of interviews of all the actors (and now includes a few moments with Alfre Woodard too)....
So you're not confused. This is the same interview; it's just more of it, parts we never got to see until now.
BTW, for those who can access CBS's 3R webpage, this new Alex interview is now there too. ALong with that Swims commercial and the original promo...

I know he's working and the conditions were less than favorable (understatement) but it does look like he had fun filming that scene!

I think he gets quite a workout, grace...if nothing else, flying back and forth across country, first to wrap up BUP, then to start filming TR, then to Pittsburgh, back to LA....my question is when does the man get to sleep??

mwj01 and
Red for the link to the video with Alfre and the snappies of Alex. Love the shots of him from the interview. He REALLY looks fabulous in those rugby shots!

I believe he said in a recent interview something like, "Sleep is good. I'll sleep when I'm dead." It made me want to mother him.

I've been looking at the rugby pictures again, and something is really nagging at me.
I was in Pittsburgh, August 11, 12 and 13, hoping beyond hope to catch sight of Alex, if in no other place than the airport (I knew that there were supposed to be some exterior shots done sometime that weekend). Alas, not a glimpse.
On Wednesday, August 12, the group I was with went out to dinner on Mt. Washington, at a really nice restaurant called Monterey Bay. Besides fabulous food, the restaurant occupies the fourth and fifth floors of a high rise building, affording its patrons a truly incredible view of the city below, where the three rivers come together.
While we were there, a group of about 14 or 15 people came in to eat. Understand, I'm a people watcher. What got my attention was first, the size of the group, and that they were all male, casually, but nicely dressed. My first thought was some kind of team, maybe football, but they weren't built like football players. They were muscular, but not big. There was also a bit of an age spread (not all twenty-somethings, a few thirty-somethings thrown in). I might not have given them another thought except there was another gentleman, who was built like a linebacker, who was hovering around them, looking like he was trying to ensure they were having a good time, but he wasn't a part of the restaurant staff (he was eating with them). From time to time, he would get up and walk the length of the table, chatting with various guys.
This may be really far-fetched, but I wonder if they were the rugby team used in the shoot. In particular, the young man with the red hair and beard in the rugby photos stands out as someone I think I've seen before. Maybe the network was taking them out as an advance 'thank you' for running around a rugby field in what would turn out to be incredibly hot weather.
Anybody have any ideas how I could find out?

WOW!! Um...the only way I can think of that you might find out would be to contact the rugby team and ask them. Tell them you're a fan, you were there, you know they worked on Three Rivers, and ask if they happened to be the ones you saw at the restaurant.
It couldn't hurt...
