Well, I've thought about this a lot. Is it okay to say that I'm not too enamoured of Alex's new bod? His swimmer's bod was perfectly fine, a nice balance. Why did he do it? "It's the trend, the fashion, the advantage" don't cut it with me. Why is he doing so much cheesecake?
Your body, though it might add to your cheesecake quotient, doesn't make you an actor or a more compelling actor. At some point that's all people might remember you for. I am so totally confused as to his choice. He was perfect the way he was. Naturally so. Who's going to take his acting seriously? Though I imagine it is good
business move.

Your post made me giggle, lafluffy - purely because cheesecake must have a different meaning over the pond. Over here we'd call it beefcake.

I haven't heard Alex give any of those reasons.
*shrugs* But I have heard him talk about wanting to be in the best shape possible.
Each to their own though - I think he looks amazing.

I've mentioned before that I think he's too thin now, and that I think he looked healthier when he had a bit more body fat. But there are many very knowledgeable people who say that a diet very low in fat is very healthy. It's his body and his choice. He certainly has never been shy about nudity in the films he's made, so the BUP beefcake doesn't surprise me. I do worry about him getting stuck in pretty boy roles...but then again, he continually surprises his critics when they see his acting. So I guess I'm gonna trust that his talent will do the talking when that's necessary.

He's thinner... and he was at one point sick and lost a lot of weight... but I don't think he looks alll that different. He's always been kinda buff. They said he worked out like a fiend during ML...
And face it, he is gonna be thought of as a beautiful man, no matter what kinda acting he does. I think in Oyster Farmer, one of the real oyster farmers called him "pretty boy" in the film. He is.... he just is.
But folkses can like him best with one look or another and it certainly does not worry me. Lord knows he takes better care of himself, and eats healthier, than the VAST majority of most Americans... and it works for me.
Tho Lafluffy... it IS beefcake, honey. Beefcake is the word for buff guys.
