I, too, am perplexed at the whole "holding" concept.
Now that Alex is back in the States we may hear something (hopefully positive!)
I'm disappointed about that too but I'm hoping it's because they want it to be a bit more dramatic when they present him in his own show.
The idea of seeing him in a crime fighting skater show with Grace and Fleur is intriguing! While I'm not normally a fan of sparkly spandex  I'd whole-heartedly embrace that look on Alex as he twirls and tosses the courtesan wannabes.

See! Already a testimonial... it's sure to be a hit... I mean if ML fans like it, we're a sure-bet Nielsen triumph... just like Moonlight was...
Hmmm... maybe need to fire the entire cast of the second pilot, except for Alex of course...
And perhaps Fleur and I need to stop writing the scripts ourselves and actually engage a writer or two... if ONLY we knew where to find any good writers who would be willing to writer for Mr. O'Loughlin... who understood his talent, his range, his strengths as an actor... WHERE could we find such folks?

I don't know grace, maybe we should put an ad out, see if we get any bites
I am thinking that, for purposes of the show, Mr. O'Luscious needs to grow out his hair.
Imagine: him skating with that flowing mane of hair. Just no Brian Boitano flowing shirts, only tight henley's, with perhaps the first 3-4 buttons undone.
CBS- this is our idea, no copyright infringing had better happen.

Grace and Fleur,
Maybe you could take out an ad on the side of a bus... Wait! Post it on the side of a ship! Yeah, that's the ticket!

I'm liking this... but just had another thought...given Michael Phelps's achievement this summer, maybe Next-Mick should be a
swimming crime-fighter...ya know, wearing clothes in which one would race in a pool... sorta speaks for itself doesn't it?
I mean, one little word... tats. Okay two little words but Phee won't let us say it here...
Whatcha think Fleur? Promising premise? Of course you and I will now have to learn the breast stroke... assuming he already knows it.
We can still fire the entire cast from the third pilot, except for Alex, and go with number 4...

If you've read any fanfic at all, you know he knows the breast stroke.

I'm once again 100% behind this concept!

You guys crack me up.Love the ice skating ideas. Just put him in something tight, that's all I ask.

I do have one thing to add about Alex and his contract. As wary as I am of anything to do with CBS, I think they did the same thing with Simon Baker who I think is on his third show with them, maybe only second and the one this season is a pretty big hit. (The Mentalist) so hopefully Alex will find the same gold and we'll see him again in something that's perfect for him.
I'm with most of you. I'd take pretty much anything at this point.

grace~~~hmmm. Alex in a speedo does raise some interesting possibilities.
I think I will focus on the back stroke. I mean, have you seen that man's back? I would be happy to stro....ok, I will stop.
CBS, CBS, etc. back on topic.

You are a wise woman, Clair... and you ably cut thru the B.S. (in which my sister and I seem to flourish...)
And I'm hoping the same thing for him... (tho I think Fleur and I have a shot... tho maybe better with NBC cause they DID air the Olympics and can we really be sure those folks at CBS even watched em?)

Really, as long as we are doing this, why not go for HBO or Showtime?
Another demand: he must be allowed to speak in his Australian accent.

CBS should hire this fan fic team to come up with concept for them. I'm sure you guys will be willing to do it for free too.
"Mr. O'Luscious needs to grow out his hair. Imagine: him skating with that flowing mane of hair. "
OMG.... I need some drooling smileys here. If his hair doesn't grow out fast enough, he could borrow Beth's wig for a change. I know Grace will love it.

Oh, yes. The only compensation request would be that we need to spend a lot of time with Alex.
Fleshing out his character, etc.
All for the good of the show, and the fans, of course.

...Not to mention lots of imagination.
Imagining Alex in different scenarios, very time consuming work.
