It bears repeating: And this, ladies, is why she should be with MickVampire instead of ChickenJosh.

Loved these line, they said it all:

Catmoon wrote:“Did you take my sweater?” he asked, already knowing the answer of course, but interested to hear what she’d say.

Beth’s panicky mind cast about for excuses, diversions… “What are you doing sneaking around in my apartment when I’m not home anyway? And snooping through my things, going through my underwear?!” She fell back upon the tried and true offensive.

“You did,” he said, ignoring her words, smiling as he moved further into the room, closer to her. “Why did you steal my sweater?”

Because it’s yours? Because it makes me feel safe? Because…

“That’s very stalker-ish you know, and shows a total lack of respect for privacy…”

“I’ve stalked you since you were four, you didn’t seem to have a problem with it until tonight. I’m a private investigator, and I was on the case of a stolen sweater. Now I found the culprit.” He grinned, stopping in front of her. “I’d really like to know why you took it. Before I run you downtown and have you arrested for grand theft, sweater.” He knew why of course, he’d seen it, but he was enjoying teasing her too much.

Beth fought a battle between finding his teasing amusing and annoying. She was especially annoyed that what had worked before seemed to be failing her now. “Do you have an underwear fetish?” she said, the accusation sounding lame to her ears. It wasn’t going to work this time.
Oh yes, Beth has finally met her match.

Loved it.

That was priceless. I'd read the prequel, but somehow missed this sequel.

Josef was highly amusing, as usual, but Mick stole that last scene. Loved how he dealt with Beth's avoidance tactics. :rolling:

I've read this before but surely bears a second reading. I love how Mick took it all in humor and wouldn't let Beth fake her way out of admitting this one. Then he took her underwear. That was PG-13 enough to make it into an actual episode! I'd have loved to see that.

PS. Has anyone actually SEEN Mick wearing a sweater? Henley's don't count as sweaters.

NocturneInCMoll: Glad you found the sequel and enjoyed!

Helloeeze: No, I don't think Mick was ever seen wearing the sweater. Guess it was just there for Beth to smell. :giggle: Thanks for reading again, and commenting.

Hello Cat Moon! I am delighted to meet you! (Always late to the party.) Halfway through your stories, I had to stop and tell you how wonderful they are. Beth inhaling Mick's sweater was one of the sexiest scenes on network tv; she just had to smell that man! Then your take on what happened next...she steals the sweater (Iwould have too) and Mr. Neat Freak obsessively looking for it...Priceless! LOL, your humor is a breath of fresh air. Going back for more now. seamus.

It's good to meet you, too! Thanks for stopping by and reading. I loved that scene, too, I think it was very telling.

just reread this gem!

This is adorable. Mick and Beth at their flirty best.

If you ever decided to do a third installment, I know I'd love it.

Thanks, Cat

You sat down and re-read a bunch of my stories on my birthday. Was this a coincidence? If not, what a sweet thing to do. If so... I think the universe wanted to give me a gift. :hearts:

I love the ending, it made me giggle! She can run Josh in circles but as a mortal Beth's still pretty much on par with Mick...

This is wonderful, Cat Moon! :flowers:

Beth may not have been able to trick Mick, but she got to keep the sweater. Sounds like a great trade to me! :twothumbs:

Thank you! :hearts:

Cat

Just reread this charming fic again, and some of the comments, too. Come to think of it, I don't recall seeing Mick wearing a nonhenley sweater, but he wouldn't really need to keep warm.

This is just delightful!

Thank you!

Jenna
