I'm shocked to see that I didn't comment on this...maybe on another forum? Because I absolutely love it. I love Josef's unfamiliar tension and tentativeness, and I love Lucky's serenity. She's so much better at handling it right now than he! On the other hand, maybe seeing how awkward he really feels helps her to maintain that serenity.
Oh man, I've got to say that I'd LOVE to be a fly on the wall if Josef and Mick ever do talk about this!

Thanks, Alle...I've never posted this one on another forum, but always glad to see comments! Yes, I expect Mick would get a good deal of amusement out of Josef's situation here. Which is probably why Josef isn't going to talk to him about it, unless it gets necessary.

I guess Josef only "loves awkward" if he isn't personally involved.
The eventual feeding seems to be Josef's way of reasserting his power and position. This whole situation has likely left him feeling out of control. He can't go back in time and change what happened, and he can't change his emotions (cover them up, sure). The one thing he can control - Lucky. So Josef dominates her, and in doing so, hurts her again. I'm glad that she got the last word. Josef needed to hear that.
And while her blood was still on his lips, she slipped out the door, and left him standing alone.
In more ways than one.

Gosh, it's been quite a while since anyone commented on this one! Gave me an excuse to read back over it myself....
Yes, this was a crucial period in their relationship, and not an easy one.
Thanks so much for reading and commenting!

I keep coming back to this one as a refresher.
You did a beautiful job on tapping into the follies of the human heart.
Regardless, of the years that Josef has lived and the level of control that he maintans. Some tiny elements of karma? kismet? fate?
manage to slip in and suprise him.
I think it's what keep Josef such a wonderful character. I'm just saying...
