Oh, does the Biltmore home deliver? You know if that pool had bubbles, I'd feel right at home with a scone and a cup of tea.Lucy wrote:Well, let's move in and order Lemon scones from the Biltmore!

I just listened to a story about Lautner on NPR's Morning Edition show. They talked about Goldstein House, among other Lautner-designed buildings.

What a perfect place to chose as the residence of Josef Kostan. It communicates so much of his personality, adding a wonderful backdrop and telling us much about him without having to say a word. Josef...adapts to the time and the culture...and goes it one better!
Absolutely lovely.
We have, in fanfic, explored other parts of Josef's home and designed places in it in our mind, but what is here, in these pictures, is a wonderful look into the mind of the original creators of the character.
Thank you!

So I got a freebie interior decorating magazine with my San Francisco mag and am flipping through it and lo and behold, what's in the back "Society" section but a gorgeous pic of that Kasa Kostan roof all lit up for a mid-century design celebration. I like to think Josef and Mick are there, mingling among the hoity toity.

Indeed this house is a hot commodity - they've done all sorts of fashion shots there too. The house has a personality of it's own......that's what inspired my recent story 'Jackie Treehorne Lived Where?'.

There's a new three-level commercial development on the (expanded) property of the Sheats-Goldstein house. It will include a private club. Here's an article that came out when construction was in its early stages: http://la.curbed.com/archives/2013/01/s ... _of_la.php
A new article came out about it today. Lots of pictures are available here: http://la.curbed.com/archives/2014/10/i ... tion_1.php

Thank-you for sharing.....between this home, the FOS and Coraline's.....I am swept away with ML's choices for our Vamp's perpetually cool digs.allegrita wrote:There's a new three-level commercial development on the (expanded) property of the Sheats-Goldstein house. I follow an account on Instagram called @laexplained, which posts all sorts of awesome historical photos of Los Angeles-area locations. And what did I run across today, but some old photos of the Goldstein house back in the day, and its original owner!
