Just a quick update on how things are progressing, I did actually have a date and time set (it was supposed to be this Friday at 3 pm Hawaiian time) unfortunately I wasn't anywhere near well enough (I've been hit with a bad case of Bronchitis) so Alex's publicist has very graciously agreed to reschedule (she was really understanding and sweet about it).

Oh Emerald, I'm so sorry to hear you are ill. I hope you feel better very soon.

Good to hear that Alex and his people are flexible and understand your situation.

Feel better soon, Em! I can't imagine a better motivation for getting well than the prospect of getting to interview Alex... so hopefully that will help you heal up quickly.

Thanks guys I will admit receiving a confirmed interview date, and then realising I wouldn't be able to do it did throw me into a bit of a panic, like 'oh no, that's it, if I say no I'll have completely blown my chances'. Once I'd explained the situation to his publicist though, apologised way more than I probably should have, and offered to at least try and get myself better as fast as possible, come hell or high water, so I could keep the date open, and not inconvenience anyone, she was totally cool about it, just more or less said 'please don't worry about, we can arrange another time, it's no problem'.

One thing I did notice with the proposed timing of the interview, they seem to at least be trying to arrange it so that the time difference between Hawaii and Australia match up at a reasonable hour. It would have been 3 pm Hawaiian time, and 11 am my time. Of course I'm not going to quibble over something as arbitary as timing, but it's still nice to know the consideration seems to be there. So far his publicist has been very nice to deal with.

Alex's publicist is so nice, the one I've been dealing with at least, she just sent me another nice reassuring 'it's okay, just let us know when you're better, and we can totally reschedule' message. She's making me feel more at ease about doing the interview all round.

In regards to my interview with Alex O'Loughlin, due to the previous interview date having to be postponed because of illness on my part, and with Alex currently on his holiday break, the new interview date unfortunately won't be going ahead until well into the New Year. Despite this our Christmas campaign will still remain extended the extra 10 days, until January 1st 2010. Please check the following posts on our main blog for more information on how to take part:

This interview will be another christmas present in January.

I know it's been ages since I gave an update on this...

Good news, the interview is still going ahead. I've been in fairly regular contact with Alex's publicist, and we have been working on finding a suitable date for the interview to be rescheduled. Obviously with Alex entering treatment, things got set back a bit, and I did request that the interview be put on hold until whenever Alex was up to it. I spoke to her briefly today, with the suggestion of a possible date in the future, and we're looking at hopefully getting something set up later in the year.

Patience is key.

Thanks Emerald for keeping us updated. With Alex taking time for himself I figured things would be on hold for a good while. At least until he is better and is feeling up to it. Patience is the key...and a virtue.

I figure if I've already had to cancel once due to illness, it'd be a little remiss of me to start kicking up a fuss because I now have to wait while Alex is taking time away for his own health issues (and quite possibly did not have the time/energy to do a 10 minute phone interview before that anyway). It will happen, when it happens, and when the time is right.

And we will all be right here!!
