What clair said. Lots of fun. So happy that Rob and company got to do this.clair wrote:Just got back from the first showing. I won't say anything except the entire cast did a bang up job and Rob knows his characters. I felt like it was old home week and so I don't spoil anything that's all I'll say.

I just got back too!
I am very satisfied with the movie. Wonderful to see all those folks again. And even better, there are enough loose ends and set ups that I'm sure there's another movie in there somewhere.
Very happy!

Re: Veronica Mars - The Movie
I am just thrilled to hear all of your positive reviews.
And thank you all for not saying tooooo much.
I'm going to drive about 8 hours round trip tomorrow so that my college son can hang with my younger son while I see the movie -- IN A THEATER!
(Have I mentioned that my older son is the greatest?
)
It's been torture not downloading my digital copy or my script PDF today, but I knew I couldn't trust myself not to peek.

Hubby just agreed to go with me!
Looks like we'll go on Sunday. I'm so excited!
I downloaded my script, and peeked at the first page. Then I firmly told myself to stop and put it away.
Hopefully, my resolve will stay strong!

Sounds like everyone had a fun time at Paley.
I'm not sure when I'll get to see the movie in the UK but it looks great so will wait as patiently as possible.
Alle, I hope when you met Jason that you said more than "hello" to him. Repeatedly.

See the movie first, but afterwards, here's an article with fun background on the scene where you first see Piz.

So - how was Friday box office?
http://variety.com/2014/film/news/box-o ... 201134449/
Seems to be respectable but in no way a record setter.
Also - some people apparently had trouble downloading their digital copy. I had no problem.

Well with the limited AMC release I think that's really outstanding.r1015bill wrote:So - how was Friday box office?

Re: Veronica Mars - The Movie
Ohhhhh - there is so much to talk about this morning.
The film was everything I had hoped for.
I got to the big-city multiplex over an hour early for the 1:35 screening. (What can I say? I was motivated.
) When they finally started letting folks into the theater, they filtered in pretty steadily after the first 20 of us passed through the doors. Within 10 minutes, there were about 100 people seated. I thought that was pretty respectable. But they kept coming. By the time the previews started, the theater was PACKED. Only the first couple of rows, waaaaaay down in front had empty seats.
The movie itself elicited applause when it began and again when it ended. In between, there was everything from laughter and sighs to tears and audible gasps. I think I even heard a "Noooo!" It was wonderful. Was it the greatest film I ever seen? Of course not. But it was, without a doubt, one of the most special theatrical experiences I've ever had. We were a family in that room. We were Marshmallows. I honestly felt that I could go up to any single person in that theater and be able to strike up a conversation. We had a connection and it was remarkable.
Rob Thomas wrote us a love letter and the cast delivered. The Kickstarter swag was great, but the feeling I got in the theater yesterday? That alone was worth the money.

Glad the theater experience was so great, Lilly
Per Box Office Mojo, VM came in tenth this weekend, pulling in just over $2 million on just 291 screens. Considering just how few screens we're talking about, that's pretty good!
