jims--thanks for all of the great links

grace---agreeing with you again--wonderful assessments of Alex's characters.

However, I do see some cracks of vunerability within Dr Andy. That scene on the hospital roof/balcony/whatever....there was a peek of inner sadness. For once, we didn't see the sure, decisive doctor. We saw a man in pain, questioning the direction his life is headed.
With the amount of doctors, patients, nurses, families in this show, either they are going to have to air a few eps that focus almost entirely on the main characters--delving into their personal lives--or it's going to take quite a while for us to really get to know all of them.

Then again, I am trying to remain patient, because it has only been 2 eps!

I just finished rewatching the second episode and I liked it even more the second time around. I also liked the first one aired, though I do wish they had shown them in the proper order. I really don't get why people don't like this show. My only peeve is the hospital itself seems a bit busy. Between the gleaming, ultra modern sets with light reflecting everywhere, lots of background movement (nursers, orderlies moving throughout the scenes) and the doctors themselves always on the move it does seem a bit frantic. But other than that I really like it. I do want more character exploration, but I figure that will come in time. If you give it to me all at once then you have no where to go very soon except into the insane and comic kind of personal relationships of soap operas (like Greys).

Actually as I was watching I was reminded of Moonlight, some of the same characteristics attract me to both shows. The characters are real, "human", and connected to each other. They are emotionally complex in real ways. These doctors care about their patients but still have to be detached enough to give them bad news, see them die, etc. It's such a hard job to do and I think it's been portrayed pretty well and honestly in this show so far.

I'm not saying what I mean very well, I know, I'm not a writer, but I do like this show - I just think it's incredibly honest and that's what I like about it.

Agree about the layers and needing to focus on the docs. Just left feedback on the CBS page to that affect (there's a tiny little link at the bottom of the page for user feedback). I praised the strength of the ensemble cast and indicated that character development would help the show (so would a better timeslot).

I don't expect a response, but I'll let you know if I get one.
I'll be damned...

I left comments / feedback last night at CBS.com on 3 shows - The Good Wife (positive comments), Three Rivers (see above) and NCIS - LA (disappointed in cast chemistry except (to my surprise) that between LL Cool J and Chris O'Donnell).

I actually got a response, but only on the Three Rivers submittal:

Thank you for writing to CBS. We appreciate your comments and assure you they
will be shared with the appropriate broadcast executives.

Cordially,

Ray Faiola
Director,
CBS Audience Services

Now this may be the auto response, but why then nothing on the other two shows?

Any thoughts?

Sad news for us Aussies - TR has been pulled off the air after just 1 episode. It had terrible ratings last week with its lead-in NCIS LA having more than double the viewers. :hankie:

A nice article about Mandy Patinkin's upcoming guest spot - and he has lovely things to say about the show. I SO hope he's right...

Sounds like Mandy's departure from CM could have been handled better by Mandy.

My condolences to all the Aussies. :comfort: That's absolutely ridiculous.

I will be screaming in the streets when they get rid of this stupid friggin' Nielsen system and all the ways they currently check ratings. :witsend:
