Nor did many others.....

BTW, I'll take the donuts.....or dinner on Mt Washington at the Georgetown Inn. Gorgeous view of Pittsburgh where the three rivers come together.

Have not had the time to catch up on television viewing---have the last 2 eps of 3R on the dvr and am starting to watch one now.
How does this man end up looking more beautiful every episode??

Ooooh, just saw a recorded H50 promo.

Life is so good right now.

Savor the moment, sweetie, for Dr. Andy isn't long for this world.

Oh, I am savoring. Believe me. I savored the opening of the ep when he acted so adorably stutter-y around Dr Lisa. I savored when he unconsciously licked his lips when he was treating a patient and asking for chest x-rays.

Next question: how many eps left?

Anyone else notice that Doc Lisa and the ex look remarkably similar? Just switch the hair color and I swear they are the same woman.

The episode this Saturday is the last one. Dr. Jordan tells Andy he needs a life outside the hospital. Ya think?

Actually, the focus of the final episode is Kuol and whether or not he gets a heart.

If they kill Kuol off because of some bureaucratic insurance bullcrap, I will truly be disappointed....Kuol and the viewers deserve better than that.

Yes. Yes we do.

As much as I love watching Alex act, I am surprised at how distracted I always am while watching 3R. I end up either scanning the newspaper or going on the computer during the scenes he's not in.

Although this firefighter episode is very touching.

Had not noticed that but I see what you're saying. So now I'm wondering why I view Rena as a more mature, deeper person ?

Probably because she is a brunette? I think subconsciously people think of brunettes as more serious.

Love Andy in the Douchey Luke episode! Enjoyed his possessive demeanor when Luke was putting the moves on Lisa, and his
"Welcome Back. When is Luke leaving?" That scene cracked me up!

I think there's more to it than her hair color. To me, it has a LOT to do with their voices. The actress who plays Rena has a low, mature-sounding voice. The actress who plays Lisa has a high, girlish voice. It's hard to take her seriously as a doctor. Kinda like how hard it was to take Elizabeth Shue seriously as a nuclear physicist (or whatever she was) in The Saint movie...

Good point about the voices!

I was just hunting around trying to find out how their ages compared to each other.

Kelly Overton is only 2 years younger than Alex with a bdate of August 28th, 1978.

It was kind of hard to find Amber's birthdate exactly because there's so little about her. I found this article which says the most about her acting history. http://pt-pt.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=240929110270 She must have been born in 1980 or so. Somewhere else, it said her day was December 12th. I would have thought she was younger.

The other thing is that Rena talked about deeper subjects while Lisa fixated on tennis shoes.

Plus, the concept of Alex working with any other blonde besides Sophia predisposed me not to like her - no matter what.

I think Lisa IS supposed to be younger than Andy and Rena. Andy and Rena were childhood sweethearts who grew up together and then got married.
Lisa is a fairly new doctor, still a resident, at Three Rivers... she would be more a contemporary of David or Miranda... so a bit younger than Andy.

So whatever the ages of the actron units... the characters of Rena and Lisa are not in the same age range.

And I had no problem with Andy choosing, or being chosen by, either of the women in the series... I thought they were both pretty and seemed like good people. So I could see the Good Doctor seeing the appeal of either one. Tho I tend to pull for the brunettes... cos I'm one. :teeth:

I totally agree with you about the voices. Also agree with grace's point whereby Andy and Rena have grown up together. thereby giving Rena that air of maturity. Plus, although she carries the same name as I, have never been sold on the casting of Dr Lisa.

It's a classic case of any tv show or movie, where the conflicting love interests must have different hair colors in order to set them apart. As a natural brunette---and I am talking deep brown Cora color (which I haven't seen in years!)--I seem to pull for the blondes lately. Could be because that is my current color or maybe it's not just the blondes, but whoever seems to be Alex's present day choice.

Hmmm. Never thought about it before. I don't have strong feelings against Rena, like I did with Cora, but I find myself pulling for his current happiness. If him and Rena could have worked things out, I would have been perfectly content with that union, but that scene months ago in the parking lot--which was one of the best, most powerful scenes of 3R--really sealed the deal in my mind that their relationship was over. Obvious strong feelings remain, but the basis of their relationship is done. I guess that I don't ever want him to hurt, therefore I pull for the current gal who is bringing him a measure of happiness.

Just to clarify, grace, do you talk about Alex or Andy?

:giggle: My last post? About the girls?

I was talking about Andy... he and Rena are the same age, or same-ish... and Lisa would be younger than he, as she is a newer doctor and he is quite established as the "Great Dr. Yablonski" at this point of the show. And I am not rooting (barracking?) for either girl... just thinking Andy should end up with one.

Tho, now that you mention it, I wish the same for Alex. :teeth:
