AAAK!!! my head is spinning with the various reviewers either loving 3R or hating it, but like some of you have said,, I watch for myself and make up my own mind...
That said, I have to agree with alle, and share her concerns about the showrunner....I really got concerned when in one of the interviews she gave, one of her selling points on the show was 'our doctors are hot!!' So what are you selling, a good drama with talented actors or good looking actors?
Final note: the one thing the snarky reviewer who couldn't make up his mind if 3R was comedy or drama had one thing right....it's bound to do better than either Mercy (which received none) and Trauma (a self-fulfilling prophesy)
Wed (9/23) numbers for Mercy premiere 8.25 million (we'll see how it fares tonight)
Mon (9/28) numbers for Trauma premiere 6.93 million (ouch, half of what Two and a Half Men came in with)

The actor, who also stars opposite Jennifer Lopez in the upcoming movie “The Back-Up Plan,” knows fans of “Moonlight” have been waiting for him to return to TV. He hopes they’ll tune in to “Three Rivers.
“I would be deeply saddened if they didn’t,” he said. “But I guess I would understand.”

Well that... and it seems an odd way to sell a tv show. I mean, sometimes WE talk like that... but aren't the networks supposed to be run by grown-ups??

Oh Gracie! You slay me!
I thought the commercial was cute, and definitely altered to appeal to a different audience. I guess they were hoping to capture the daytime romance viewers. I figure, if it works, all the better!

Oh My!!

That day time ad is just too funny. Great way to start the morning, though! And the smile just makes me melt.

I hate to say this, but I hated that ad. It was stupid and made me uncomfortable.

I have a wierd feeling they are making fun of us in a subtle way.
It's like the network is a mom on Toddlers and Tiaras. "Look at Alex, see how talented he is! Watch what he can do!!" Ugh. Why are they focusing on Alex only? Will things change after the show airs? I know Kate's fans aren't happy at all the focus on Alex, and I can see why. I realize he's the star of the show, but hearing that lady go "You're a rock star." made me

.
I really hope that the show is good and am praying for it to do well. That said...I really wish CBS would get a frickin' grip.
Sorry for my foul mood today.

I hear you, sister. The show is an ensemble show. Why can't they advertise it as such?! They need Kate Moennig's fans. Don't alienate them!
Not that I mind seeing pretty pictures of Alex, but they're trying to attract a broad base of viewers right now. It's absolutely imperative that they get every eye on the show that they can scrounge. So where are the ads featuring Kate, and Alfre, and Daniel? Why isn't Kate being booked on talk shows? She's an articulate, interesting, funny person.
CBS is hanging this show on Alex and Alex alone, but Moonlight/Alex fans are not a big enough group, no matter how fervent or vocal we are. Why not invite fans of the other actors to the party??

Here's a selection of review articles out today. Generally I'd characterise them as neutral - some leaning towards positive, some negative. Overall, I confess, this is better than I was expecting:
Philadelphia Daily News
Chicago Sun-Times
Orlando Sentinel
Buffalo News
Red

Ha ha!
I must admit that ad makes me go to my naughty place! "Doctor Andy, I need an exam to be
all better . Please examine my ....(insert body part of your choice). Then I'll be allllll better. Thanks, Dr. Andy!"

I think I saw one preview on TV and don't bother with reviews or net previews.
After all the comments I had to check this one out. I loved it! I wish they'd kept the old scrubs- I thought of them as hyper-stylised and futuristic. And sexy.
This certainly cranked up Alex's hotness. Yeah, I wanna be saved by someone like him. Had a heart specialist who made me weak at the knees so spending time with him turned out to be very pleasant and it wasn't just his bedside manner. It's all good, IMO.
I like this promo because it's light-hearted, tongue firmly in cheek. It's more likely to capture my attention then the yawningly dead serious ones. That's why The Mentalist is doing so well- there's a nice balance between comedy and tragedy. Just imagining that for TR gives me hope.

I have been terrible about watching 3R links, vids, reading anything about it, etc. Hell, I even missed Alex on Craig Ferguson and Bonnie Hunt. However, this link killed me!! I am hoping that CBS was aiming for tongue in cheek--because that's how I viewed it. Definitely a more 'soapier' ad than I would have expected.
My fears? That the focus is once again all on Alex having to make or break another tv show. The man just about killed himself for ML and I pray that with a larger ensemble cast on 3R, some of the blood, sweat and tears will be shed equally.
Having said all that? The man still turns me into a leaky faucet.
And I ain't referencing crying..........

I totally agree, Fleur, to put so much pressure on Alex to carry this show isn't fair to him and isn't fair to his co-stars and their fanbase.
That said, I can hardly concentrate on reading what you post, with that avatar and all...
