Having both THR and Variety reporting the same info is as sure as it gets at this point.
I am ready to celebrate! :cheer:

Holding everyone's hands in solidarity, but I am holding on loosely. Because I will be needing to let go in order to pump my fists in the air!!!

And red, I'm with you because everything I have read about 3R is that it is a well-done pilot. That is the crux of the matter-----you hear about so many of these pilots beforehand that are not good, and there hasn't been any bad buzz surrounding this one.

Do your stretches ladies, prepare yourselves for some jumping, fist pumping and cheering!
I'm getting read to stretch Fleur, but won't actually be doing any jumping until the Eye says aye for sure and to quote a well known saying "I'm glad the buzz is good" :snicker:

dc, if they were reporting a series order, I'd be right there with you. As it is, I'm still waiting for the final word. Then, if Grace lets go, I will be joining in the celebrations with wild abandon (spare a thought for my poor neighbours...).

Like I said, msj: Prepare yourselves for the jumping. We will have no jumping until it's time. And so look forward to typing: IT'S TIME! very, very soon!

amyvil wrote:Well, I guess given the past history between Alex and CBS, I have faith that TR is going to be put on CBS's schedule. The second Moonlight was cancelled, CBS signed Alex to a holding contract. So obviously they saw his talent and wanted to develop projects with him. Here we are a year later and CBS has given him a cushy guest starring role in CM, a leading role in a romantic comedy and the lead in a pilot. CBS has plans for Alex and Three Rivers and The Back Up Plan are just the start of great things to come.

Oh, great post Amy. I'd like to think that we have something to do with Alex getting the holding contract. ML got the buzz from us, :clapping: some of us more rabid than others :snicker: even though our fanbase didn't number 12-14 million. And the stupid strike didn't help.

It may not be entirely true but I like think it is anyway. Go ML fans!!! :woohoo:

And remember, Alex CHOSE this pilot and he felt it was a great story with a lot of future stories that can come out of it!
If it is good enough ,no,excellent, enough for Alex, then my guess is the pilot/show potential is awesome! :cheer: :cheer:

CBS greenlights three new dramas for fall
Posted May 17th 2009 1:18PM by Allison Waldman
Filed under: Pickups and Renewals, Upfronts, Reality-Free

This Wednesday, CBS will make its official announcement for the 2008-09 season, but word has already leaked out that there will be three new drama series in CBS's new schedule. The NCIS spinoff, which I would have nixed, is in there, as well as a Julianna Margulies show called The Good Wife, and an Alex O'Loughlin vehicle set in the medical field and dealing with organ donors called Three Rivers. The latter may not have the sex appeal of Moonlight, but how much you want to bet the O'Loughlin fans will be tuning in?

All three of these shows are one-hour dramas, so that means the rumors about Without A Trace, Cold Case and The Unit all being on the bubble were true. Cold Case had a strong finish with a two-parter that performed very well in the ratings, so it could be safe, but the other two are likely to be ending their runs.

Another iffy hour is Eleventh Hour. No word on whether this Jerry Bruckheimer show will get a second season, but the lack of chatter makes me suspect it's not coming back.

The Good Wife casts ER vet Julianna as a lawyer who's forced back to the work when her spouse is convicted and sent the prison. There are big name director/producers attached to The Good Wife, brothers Ridley and Tony Scott (Bladerunner and Spy Game, respectively), as well as David Zucker (A Walk in the Clouds). Who says clout doesn't matter in Hollywood?

Three Rivers has behind the camera, experienced producers, as well -- Carol Barbee and filmmaker Curtis Hanson (L.A. Confidential). Barbee's last CBS series were Swingtown and Jericho, two shows with cult followings that failed to find a wide audience. She should be perfectly paired with O'Loughlin, then, because his Moonlight series is stlll being mourned by some fans who never understood why it was canceled.

As for the NCIS spinoff, I'm not surprised by the pickup, but I am hoping that the subsequent series is better than the pilot.

But ohhhhh, so ready for the announcement... So. Very. Ready.

Nope... not letting go until we know... and when Fleur gets back from the store, I'm grabbing her hand too... which will make wine-drinking a challenge but I'll manage...

I NEED TO KNOW!

And THIS is why we wait. The latest from Nikki Finke:
SUNDAY AM UPDATE: The UNTITLED NCIS SPINOFF and THE GOOD WIFE starring Julianna Margulies were always considered locks at CBS. So hiring writers is usually a preliminary to a pick-up. Having CBS allow the medical pilot THREE RIVERS starring Alex O'Loughlin to start hiring writers would seem to indicate that it's now pulled ahead of rival medical pilot MIAMI TRAUMA from Jerry Bruckheimer. Not true, according to my latest information. I've just been told that CBS has given Miami Trauma the green light to "make staffing offers". I'm hearing unofficially that U.S. ATTORNEY may go midseason.
