My guess is that if the series had continued, Kuol might have died, which would lead to some personal crisis for Andy, giving rise to new story lines.....but with the series ending, I hope he does live, otherwise it would be almost too much to take.

I completely agree,
dsr -- I was sure they were making us fall in love with him just so they could tear our hearts out -- and Andy's -- down the road.

Oh man! You keep scaring me with that Kuol dying talk!
I shall comfort myself with one of my favorite Andy pics, copied from
Red's post on the prior page. She actually posted 4 Andy pics and I stared at em all for about 6 minutes before I could pick one... at least, that's the story I'm stickin' with.

There has been an AU TR plot bunny running through my brain but I swore to myself not to get involved in TR fic as long as my ML stories aren't finished.
If someone wants to adopt the bunny you're welcome. The idea came from the Reaper-like photoshoot where he plays with a scalpel.

I believe this might clear up a few questions we've had regarding Three Rivers. This message was posted by Daniel Henney to his fans on his FaceBook page:
"Dear all, It's been a busy month for a number of different reasons, and I haven't had the time to write on this website like I should be doing regularly. My apologies. It's almost Christmas now (one of my favorite times of the year), and I hope that all of you have plans to spend the holidays with your loved ones. I'll be heading to Michigan a few days before Christmas, but not before making a stop in Seoul for a week or so. Looking forward to getting back to Korea. As you all have probably heard by now, "Three Rivers" will no longer be airing on CBS this season. It's been a difficult time for us because we sincerely love the show so much, and the people we work with as well. Although the show has NOT been cancelled, it remains to be seen whether or not we will be moved to a different time slot in the spring, or shelved completely. We are sill shooting, and the episodes that have yet air will be shown in the spring. So lets hope for the best. Thank you so much for your concerns and words of encouragement. As much of a shock as this may seem to all the viewers and fans, just know that we could forsee this decision by CBS, and had much time to prepare professionally, and emotionally. I want to ensure you all (my top fans) that you will be seeing me again very soon! It's going to be nice to have this break during the holidays, and then to get back to work in the New Year. it may not be Three Rivers......you'll just have to wait and see! MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! LOVE DANIEL"

Thanks so much for posting, Suz. I'm delighted that there are plans to air the remaining episodes in the Spring (although I guess nothing's written in stone). As for what happens after that, I guess it's in the lap of the gods.

I am SUPER confused right now. Alex's blog said he was shocked, but Daniel's blog says "As much of a shock as this may seem to all the viewers and fans, just know that we could forsee this decision by CBS, and had much time to prepare professionally, and emotionally." We've been told it was cancelled, but Daniel says no.
My head hurts.

Who knows what they've been told, how they've interpreted and reacted to that news and then what they've decided to share publicly. My take? From all of the info from various sources, there may not be an "official cancellation" but TR won't be back and the best we can hope for is to see the remaining episodes that have already been filmed.
But that's just my view.

And maybe Alex felt more invested, had higher hopes and was more disappointed. This is his second cancellation.

It is somewhat perplexing that Alex was "rocked" by the "sudden" cancellation. When I initially read that I was confused, since Alex himself previously had said he wasn't sure if they would get the back nine. Perhaps Alex is such a positive person he couldn't foresee it or maybe his emotions caused him to feel the loss more intensely and expressed it as such. I would think if we were pretty sure it was going to be cancelled, Alex, a professional actor, would be aware of such a possibility. Certainly Daniel was. Now Daniel says it will be aired in the spring! I doubt that the actors really know very much at all. There is speculation or "maybe this" and "maybe that," but nobody can really know for sure what these executives will decide.

I wonder if by "rocked" Alex didn't mean surprised, just emotionally hurt. He's mentioned that he's not an actor that "phones" in a performance and also that he finds finishing up movies and moving on difficult. Maybe while not being surprised about the cancellation he was still going forward with the approach that everything would work out well. Maybe that's the only way he feels he can give a good performance - by not preparing himself in advance for what-if possibilities.
I know I wasn't surprised at TR's cancellation, but I was still depressed hearing the news and sad the first 9pm Sunday when it should have, but wasn't, on.
