In case anyone was wondering, according to Bruce at the-numbers.com, the YTD sales figures for the Moonlight DVD are as follows:

"Our current total sales estimate for Moonlight is 155,000 units and $4 million in consumer spending.

This is for consumers purchasing (not renting) the DVD in the United States."

Does anyone know what the YTD sales are as of today on the DVDs?

Looking at Amazon shows Moonlight still doing pretty well. They've moved back into the top 100 on Movies & TV DVD sales(currently ranked #71.) They are also ranked #3 in Vampire genre, #3 in Television series, #4 in Drama, and #3 in Movie & TV horror.

lighterthanair and I were in the local Walmart the other day, and a BestBuy. We saw some lovely packs of ML dvds. Not facing the right way! That is, full on! So I shifted the row to make space for Mick's face to shine out on people. Walmart had an entire end section full of vampire-themed DVDs but no Moonlight! Ack! We remedied that. Doing our tiny bit for ML love. :cheer:

I went to best buy and searched for Moonlight. Couldn't find any so I went and asked. The guy said they had 2 in stock. We went over the tv series dvds but he couldn't find them. Finally, he located them in the movies dvd section out of place! I took one and he put the other back where it belonged.

I wonder if someone can help answer my question. I was wondering if anyone knew the Year to Date DVD sales(units and consumer spending numbers)?? I know someone posted them as of 3/25 but that was almost a month ago. I emailed The-numbers.com to see if I could get an update but I don't know if they will respond and so I thought I'd ask here in case you guys have more info or better contact with people who do. Thanks

TCMLfan, I had seen your query but I hadn't responded as I have no idea where to find this info I'm afraid.

Can anyone else help?

I continue my ML dvd quest when I visit any store--particularly Target. I place the ML dvds front and center--lately next to the Twilight ones. Cross marketing can't hurt, right??

I emailed Bruce Nash at thenumbers.com and he was very generous to answer some of my questions and even gave me the up to date estimate sales on the Moonlight DVDs. Here's what he had to say.
Thanks for your email. We do plan to expand our coverage of TV shows in the coming months, so look out for some more complete charts in that area soon.

In the meantime, I can tell you that Moonlight has currently sold 164,753 units and generated $4,281,930 in consumer spending at retail, according to our estimates.
It looks like the DVDs have only sold around 10,000 in the past 3 1/2 weeks since Lilly gave us an update on 3/25. Meh

It'll be interesting to see how Alex's new show Three Rivers does. Obviously, we all want him to do well. It could end up helping Moonlight DVD sales if his fan base grows because of that show... then maybe we could get a Moonlight movie sometime in the next 2 years(dreaming) or maybe someone will at least see his potential on screen and want Moonlight back... yeah, yeah... I'm a dreamer.
