He is a serial killer--plenty of room for multiple victims.

And I don't care how quiet I have to be after I am "dead."
It's the struggling before I am looking forward to.

It's nice to see him getting attention, about time. :soap:

Okay, so am I the *only* person who hadn't registered that Simon Mirren is a co-exec producer on Criminal Minds?

No, I didn't register that either... but then I never do pay attention to those things... and I had trouble just registering here... I don't register well apparently... :juggle:

You know, I can hear you all!!

I can struggle really well, though if it's with Alex, struggling will entail some serious acting. And the remaining still won't be a problem, as long as he is hovering over me.

Wow. I am getting tons of google alerts about our guy, and all of our specualtion is dead on compared to what others are thinking. There is an Alex fan site that lists all the coincidences that point to Alex being on a new show, possibly an NCIS spin-off, and it is really amazing how the pieces seem to fit together. I am not saying that is what is going to happen, but the facts are really amazing. This is copied from Alex O'Loughlin Rocks. This is one person's summation of a lot of the facts we have already heard:

Fact #1
July 2008: Ed Bernero, Criminal Minds’ executive producer and creator, tells Michael Ausiello that a possible spin-off of the TV show is being considered. To be exact, Bernero says they were “looking at all of the things the FBI does and how we can work that into the Criminal Minds world.” And, more importantly, he also reveals that the idea would likely be introduced during a special episode of Criminal Minds to air later this coming season.

Fact #2
August 2008: CBS announces that they have signed a holding deal with Alex O’Loughlin.

Fact #3
October 2008: Alex reveals to Moonlight-Detective.com that he is developing an idea for a new series with Simon Mirren and that its theme is redemption. “I can tell you it’s a one-hour drama and it’s about the redemption of one man and about the redemption of the city that he lives in,” Alex explains.

Fact #4
Simon Mirren is also the co-executive producer and head writer of Criminal Minds.

Fact #5
Criminal Minds is a CBS show.

Fact #6
November 2008: In an interview with Vampires & Slayers, Alex mentions that he and Simon expect to be ready to pitch their show to CBS within days after the interview.

Fact #7
February 2009: Michael Ausiello comes with the breaking news that Alex O’Loughlin will be guest starring as a serial killer in an April episode of Criminal Minds. Additionally, the events in that episode will unfold from the unsub’s point of view. (For those not familiar with the show, “unsub” is CM speak for “unknown subject”, or in this case, the serial killer.) This would logically mean that Alex will get a lot of screen time and this, in combination with the uniqueness of the story being told from the serial killer’s POV, is a real biggie!

Fact #8
February 2009: Ed Bernero informs TV Guide’s Matt Mitovich that “Alex is playing a killer whose life is unexpectedly changed by an incident, which prompts him to reach out to the BAU team for ‘help’”.

Fact #9
Alex, like many actors, loves to play the “bad guy”. “I must say that I prefer to play the anti hero or the flawed character, you know, because there’s more to work with,” he admits in his interview with Vampires & Slayers.

And just when we’re wondering whether all this could possibly be leading up to the serial killer getting his own show, consider this…

Fact #10
In the aforementioned interview with Vampires & Slayers, the conversation heads in the direction of the show Dexter, which is about a serial killer who directs his urge to kill towards other murderers. Alex admits that Dexter is one of his sources of writing inspiration, but then goes on to say, “… not that I’m heading in that direction at all, there may not be anything — if my show ever gets up, you know — there may not be anything you can relate back to that show, but it is a source of inspiration. I think it’s fantastic.”

It remains very frustrating as all this could seriously be a prelude for the Big Announcement we’ve all been waiting for… or it could just simply be what it appears on the surface: a very juicy guest star role with no strings attached.

We don’t know if the show Alex and Simon pitched to CBS was given a green light. If it was, is it tied to Alex’s role in Criminal Minds and therefore, is it a spin-off? If it’s unrelated, are they then just test driving Alex in the CM episode, to see if he can still pull in viewers, almost a year after Moonlight was canceled … and in the less glamorous role of a serial killer? Or perhaps it’s both: the new show did get a green light but Alex has to prove he’s capable of pulling it off first? Or it’s unrelated: Alex is working out a new show idea and meanwhile gets to guest star on a hit show?

I’ve mentioned in an earlier post that we fans are convinced that his updating his MySpace profile is a sure sign that something is up. On the other hand, you could argue that it is the beginning of a new year and Alex, like many of us, is starting it with a clean slate, so it could mean absolutely nothing at all.

But my gut feeling is telling me that there’s no such thing as a coincidence… and I, like you, am waiting anxiously for more news with bated breath…

Actually this stuff makes me nervous... I will start hyperventilating and the only remedy at that point will be AlexPics... so I will withdraw from this thread and make my way to the Alluring Alex thread to soothe my nerves... medicinal purposes as it were...

Fleur my Alex whispering friend... and business partner... just translate for me, Ok? I can't read this stuff...

I'm with you, Grace. I saw this blog earlier and only read the first couple of paragraphs before moving on. When we have so little actual, real, hard info to go on, the speculation can be fun but I then very quickly get to the point of driving myself insane with it all.
