You're welcome...I've got a great point to make in the OOTP thread, if I can find the cap.

Mick's VO explains that he didn't intend to become a 'doogooder'. For the most part he was like everyone else and just looked out for himself.

Image

And then 22 years ago he took a case that changed his life forever.

Image

The mother of a missing girl comes to him to find her.

Image
Image

The VO says that this case suckerpunched him - he investigates.

Image

The little girl had been kidnapped. The VO explains that victims always leave a trail.

Wich segues us to the present. Mick is not the only one hot on the trail.

OT: I feel so fundamentally uncool without an awesome title. ;-)

Back to topic:

Don't you think that "like most people, I was just looking out for myself" clashes with "I wanna help people. That's why I became a PI, to make up for what I am"? Inquiring minds and all that.

I think this is where Mick starts to realize Ms. Turner is a force to be reckoned with. ;-)

I cannot watch the "Ouch" scene without thinking of that silly video CBS made.

"You were at the crime scene."
"Easy with the mace, okay?"
"Stay back!"
"I'm not gonna hurt ya."
"You're not going to hurt me? How do I know you're not the killer?"
"Well, 'cuz I'm not killin' ya."
"Right-O!"
"No wukkin' furries."
"I drive a Jaguar, you know. Oh bollocks!"
"Cheers, big ears."
"Poppycock."
"How 'bout a couple of tennies?"
"Are you on the dole?"
"Vitamins!"

LMAO!! Eyelab really did some fun videos. That's probably my favorite one.

I agree, PNWgal, I think this is where Mick realizes that he's going to have to keep an eye on Ms. Turner - she's a tenacious.

The two meet up in Kelly's (the victim's) apartment. It's full of gotherama. At first Beth is leery of Mick - she DID see him at the crime scene and now here. He flahses his credentials and they investigate together. They find a small blood vile in a piece of silver jewelry signifying an ancient blood cult. Mick takes it and disappears while Beth is on the phone.

Image

They next meet up at Kelly's funeral hoping to learn more.

Image

Beth asks for the vial back. Mick tells her the blood belongs to Ellis.

Image

Next, Beth goes to question Choe, Kelly's former friend. She learns that both girls were part of a cult started by Professor Ellis. He believes he's a vampire and the girls found him irresistible.

Image

Have you always been attracted to vampires? What do you think is so irrisistible about them? Why are we drawn to them?

Excellent recap... and I think it is a little significant to note that Beth is on the phone to Josh... so Mick knows right away about Josh...

And quoted the picture cause I like the hand touch... so did Mick. It made an impression on him...

And, they both looked stunning in those cemetary scenes.

Don't they just!

So.......

Mick goes to interview Ellis's wife (lucky woman)

Image

She tells Mick all about her husband's belief that he's a vampire. We know how amused Mick must be as he sits there looking scrumpdeli-icious.

Image

Beth decides to go undercover and join Elli's class and study group.

Image

Next day Mick goes to check out Ellis himself and shows up in Ellis's office.

Image

Beth goes to see Carl to find out the latest. Guess what? The blood in the vial IS Ellis's. And Kelly had taken a restraining order out on Chloe.

Scrumpdeli-icious? Is this a technical, discussion leader, jargon kinda term?

Cause... it fits!

And yeah, even I, who love ML dialogue, did not like the I-smell-her-on-you-man line... somehow that does not seem like a compliment...

Yes, we're getting close, Lisa.

Yes, that's a technical, discussion leader term, grace. Mick defies the normal, lame stuff.
And quoted the picture cause I like the hand touch... so did Mick. It made an impression on him...
Yes, I thought he was impressed with it too. I got the impression he doesn't get touched very often. At least not like that.

Anyone have any thoughts on why we find vampires so fascinating? Ellis seemed to have caught on.
