:scary: can we just fast-forward to the end??? :fingerscrossed:

I mean, I saw one scene from this and was too afraid to watch the rest... :eyes:

ETA: bad afraid, as in, "I won't respect you in the morning" bad. But I have DVR'd it, Grace. Anything in the name of science... fiction.

Ladies, There is a thread over at AOLP about this movie as well.
I have a theory about Man thing, as do others who have watched it.
It was so bad, it was good. I actually enjoyed it.
They meant it to be as bad as it was.
It was essentially an Australian movie.
I recognised many local actors, as well as Jack Thompson and his son Patrick.
It was a take on the "B" movies of the past.
It was satire.
Am I justifying it because I enjoyed it?
Maybe...... or maybe not...... :snicker:

Oooooooookkaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy...

Watched the ending which was, btw, the longest 45 minutes of my life... :slaphead:

So what happens is, after the dearly departed Deputy Frasier departs... the sheriff, who was the 5th lead in Feed, gets really angry and he and the blond love-interest chick, who keeps degrading into Aussie from her horrible-in-the-first-place Southern accent (I am telling y'all; Alex's Southern was not at all bad and was far and away the best Southern in this stinker), figure out that basically this swamp thing sucker is mad at the fact that Jack Thompson, whose Southern accent was the WORST in the movie, killed the old Indian guy who kinda turned into the Swamp Thing and began killing everybody off because Jack Thompson built his oil rig onto Indian Holy Land... all of which they figure out by visiting the other old Indian, who then sacrifices himself to the Swamp Thing trying to save everybody else in the movie, but that doesn't work. So. Jack Thompson and his crew cut son go off to find the bald mystical guy, who has also figured out what is going on and is intending to blow up the oil rig... if Jack Thompson doesn't kill him first... and the Sheriff who was the 5th lead in Feed and blond-chick also go off into the Swamp to try to... do something... and the Photographer buy named BLug, at whose cabin the dearly departed Deputy Frasier became departed 2o minutes earlier in the movie also goes into the swamp. Jack Thompson kills the photog, just cause, and the monster kills crew cut... the monster then chases the Sheriff and the Blond but of course does not catch them cause they're the stars (this movie woulda seemed a lot better if Alex woulda been the star, btw), and then Jack Thompson, bald mystical guy and the 2 leads all end up at the oil rig with the Swamp Thing who kills Jack Thompson and then comes after everyone else... but Bald Mystical guy blows up the rig which also seems to kill the monster. The Sheriff from Feed and the Blond chick with the bad accent then kiss.

At this point the movie mercifully ends. Frasier never comes back to life tho. I am getting tired of Alex dying in all these movies. And having watched this thru to the end once, I shall never ever under any circumstances do so again. Oy!

Grace,

Even your description of the last 45 minutes is painful!

But you can now be described as an ULTIMATE ALEX FAN!

CONGRATULATIONS!

So, nobody else saw what I saw in it?
I can't be the only one who enjoyed it,surely!
If nothing else, an acknowledgement of my post would be a start! :curtesy:

I can't help you, sweetie - I haven't seen it. But the "deliberately bad" scenario certainly sounds comforting.

Perhaps you had to be in the right mood to see that or perhaps have had some mind altering refreshments?

LOL, Jo - Mr. PNW would call that a "guilty pleasure". A movie that is so horribly bad, you can't help but enjoy it.

And Grace, kudos to you for sticking to it and watching the end!
