If only someone (francis, kylara?) could translate what looks to be German in the text .....all I can glean from it is a bit about working with JLo on a CBS film and a mention of Holly Valance

Alex's left ear...

As someone who has never had her ears or anything else pierced, I've always understood that the holes for piercings grow closed if you don't wear the piercing any more. Is that not true?

Alex had an ear plug in this ear which is larger than your average ear ring so does that change things and explain why the ear hole is still there?

I haven't seen Alex with any "ear wear" in any picture since "The Invisible" days but maybe he's still wearing plugs or rings privately? What do you think?

I've had pierced ears forever and wear earrings every day. The holes will heal eventually heal if you don't wear earrings. How long depends on the size of the piercing.

In the picture that shows his left profile, it almost appears that there are two holes, one above the other. If you scroll up the page a bit til you get to the lovely picture Albra gave us....it's fairly recent as it makes mention his upcoming show this fall. It's small, but he seems to be wearing an earring in his left ear....or it might just be a drop of water...hard to tell.

I stared at that spot on that pool picture for awhile too. It is really hard to tell. I went with it being a drop of water since Alex didn't seem to be wearing an ear ring on the other pictures taken in that shoot.

I haven't worn earrings for 25 years and the holes are still visible. It depends on the size and how good you heal generally. My skin doesn't heal well and I still can see the hole, more on one side than the other.

Re the "is it or isn't it an earring" debate, I think it's actually a curl of hair. There are other shots from this shoot and he definitely isn't wearing an earring in any of those, so I'm going with it not being an earring here either.

I think the pool picture is water..... yet if he wore a "Gauge" it could be a large hole to grow closed.

My pierced ears can go for months without earrings and still stay open. I believe it depends how well healed the hole is as to if it will close up. Any Medical staff out there????

PS sometimes you can see his nose ring piercing.

Although it varies from person to person, once you've had your ears pierced (and worn earrings for a while) they will never heal to the point of invisibility. If Alex never wore an ear-plug again, it might heal up eventually but you'd still be able to see where it had been.
