The first one of those always melts me...and the boyish sincerity in the second is just too adorable.

I've been in the middle of moving into my new rental townhouse, so I've been a tad behind on the posts. But seeing these pics....I feel all warm and homey inside!!! :hearts: :heart:

Downloading free Christmas music at Amazon.....came across this song.....

Joseph Dear, Oh Joseph Mine.

Too bad they spelled the name wrong......... :snicker:

It's free and sounds like it could have been played at his birth ......

Oh, we used to sing that in Madrigal Singers when I was in college!

Joseph lieber, Joseph mein,
Hilf mir wiegen mein Kindelein;
Gott der will dein Lohner sein
Im Himmelreich, der Jungfrau Sohn Maria.

The "free" version is an instrumental... :2eyes: ..I just had to download it...... :snicker:
All I can remember is singing "The Holly and the Ivy" because our music teacher knew the author!!!

That's a very old Christmas song from Germany. I really like it. Didn't know they sing it in the US too. :heart:
And you're right, the melody is from 1607 from Praetorius, so it could have been known to Josef back then. If he was german and if his name was Josef back then.
