It's cool knowing just how Rob Thomas is reacting to all of this. His mind is blown, he's giddy as the spark of hope he had for this movie is becoming a flame of reality.

As for the critics that see this as sullying 'art', many artists of the past realized that they had to do things they'd otherwise have preferred not to in order to achieve their dreams.

As I post this, we've just crossed 50,000 donors and ~ $3.3 million!!

Sometime today, they said Canadians could donate even though it says US only.

Seems to have slowed down alot. It's at 3.4 million now.

It's too soon for it to have a MOVIEmeter score, but it should debut pretty high next week. For those who are intersted in this sort of thing, creator Rob Thomas' score went from 14,585 last week to 527 this week!

Some of the poorer attitudes call this 'electronic panhandling' but others see it for what it is, an attempt by the fans to fulfill their desire to see a VM movie.
