I think without the h, this one was actually impossible! I couldn't come up with any word that fit the parameters, unless "rused" is a word......anything else I thought of always had the e or the s in a wrong position. So I figured it must be a name, but couldn't think of anything that would work there either. I tried again before bed and ended up dreaming about it all night. I couldn't solve it in my sleep either!

My dream somehow remembered that h wasn't supposed to be in it......No word with an h made it into the dream. (Well heck, no actual word at all made it into the dream.) I do remember "cresp" coming up, though. And "fresp" and "quesr."
