Just for once, it would be nice to get some good news.

Yes it would seem that no good news and Alex not on TV are a running theme at the moment
Such a waste

Oh I find this just heartbreaking...
I'm not sure they really like him there...
What a waste, indeed...

*hugs Grace*
I thought of you when I read this.
Putting on the rose-coloured specs, maybe the pitch just wasn't that good. We all know that as long as Alex is at CBS, the safe ground for him, in terms of promo, and for them in terms of guaranteed audience, is procedural. If that's what we end up with, at least it's something.
My worst fear is that nothing comes of this at all and CBS moves on to the next big thing.

Let's all hold hands, ladies....

Well yes, since my patience with this ran out long before Christmas... not good for me... not good at all...
So, I'm totally accepting your hug, Red... and I'll hold hands... but totally exasperated!
And they HAVE moved on to the next big thing... Simon.
It would be just like American tv... CBS doesn't need a handsome Aussie actor now, they already have one...
I reallly think he oughta look elsewhere... NBC's got nothing... they might really NEED him. CBS honestly doesn't.

OK I admit to not knowing anything about The Mentalist so this upsets me more now that I realise this is a CBS show. I'm with
Grace. He really should go somewhere else where they may actually put him on TV

Tho Grace knows absolutely nothing about the entertainment business and solely looks at thru Alex-colored glasses... I mean Grace doesn't really watch tv... so one must always take anything Grace says about Hollywood with an entire Dead Sea's worth of salt...
Just in the spirit of full disclosure...

Oh I know nothing about how TV land works either but it still must be better to be on TV than not on TV and right now Alex is not on TV

Good point. Point taken. I am in accord with coco's point.

I don't know if it's my belief in the power of positive thinking, or what, but I have such a strong feeling that we will be hearing some news about Alex soon. My intuition is usually dead-on, and I am hoping it is correct in this instance.

Fleur's intuition, which is usually dead-on, is correct in this instance...
You know any Wiccan rituals sweetie? I wouldn't be averse to you taking your super power and upping the ante a bit...

I think I'm gonna go with lisa on this one,I feel positive that if CBS is firing Pilots at him (Alex said if the SM pilot didn't work out,CBS would start firing pilots at him)that he will take one of those.

I posted this on VLF but am not sure how many of the folks here go there anymore. (Don't desert that board, MoonMad is one of the people who had expressed interests to become a mod.)
Well, I am disappointed but not surprised by the news. It's probably happened before Alex's long holiday break. I had posted since Alex's last November with bits and pieces that I picked up from various bloggers about Alex's contract being a 2-part deal, that either he/Simon would develop their own pilot or Alex would be in a show with some pilot offered by CBS. Obviously, CBS would prefer pilots that fit better into their format, which might not be in line with the character-driven or anti-hero approach that Alex said he likes. I wrote to MoonMad just before seeing her dropping the bomb that I was baffled that Alex hadn't taken up on any of CBS pilots by now. Nina/CBS would have loved to announce some pending deal with Alex during last week's TCA tour and gotten the monkey off their backs.
Well, "Back" sounds rather appropriate now. I would also love to see Alex in the remakes of The Streets of SF or Hawaii 5-O. They aren't mentioned here. Are these 2 pilots off the table too?
