She also recently did some guest spots on CSI:NY, I believe. I like her quite a bit. She has that slightly hard edge that would be good for Head of Surgery. Hopefully this will put to rest those Renee Russo casting rumors.

I don't think she was in Chocolat... that was a different actress; she was French, whatever her name was.
Did not see that Sabrina... I saw the original... she was in something I've seen tho...
And is there something wrong with Rene Russo being cast? Was that a bad thing? I mean she's older... but is that bad???

Nothing wrong at all with Renee Russo, but that rumor only came up because the writers used her name to describe how one of the characters looked. After that, someone took that info and ran with it assuming that she was being cast.wpgrace wrote:I don't think she was in Chocolat... that was a different actress; she was French, whatever her name was.

The actress in Chocolat was Juliet Binoche, btw.

IMO, grace, I think Rene would be just has good, and I think both actress may be older, and at this point either actress would add to this casting. They are going for names here, that would make this pilot one that CBS can not refuse it if it came down to the wire.wpgrace wrote:I don't think she was in Chocolat... that was a different actress; she was French, whatever her name was.

Yes!! Juliet Binoche was in Chocolat... I really liked that movie...
Was Julia Ormond in the English Patient? A movie that bored me to tears, tho Ralph Fiennes is very cute... do I remember her from that movie or was that someone else?
And she IS younger than Rene, right?
And thanks for all the info, SS...

Grace, if The English Patient bored you, I am seriously going to have to re-think my plan to adopt you. Just sayin'. And that was Juliette Binoche as well (not Julia Ormond).

Oh but I do agree with you about Sabrina - original, marvellous (William Holden. Sigh); remake, dull.

...annnnd I was juuuuust this close! I'm like that kitten in the pound that just stays for years and years... so my husband is STILL stuck with me, huh?
Actually he called from London yesterday to wish me a Happy Mother's Day... cause I guess it was Mother's Day in England. I asked him what he was bringing me... He was a bit unprepared for that (tho HOW he could be I can't fathom!!)... but I think he'll be shopping today...

Oh. mi. god. I can't think of anyone more vacuous and insubstantial. I remember her in Sabrina and as Guinevere in First Knight.redwinter101 wrote:More casting news from THR:

In the latest round of pilot castings, Julia Ormond has been tapped as a lead on CBS' drama pilot "Three Rivers";
Oh well. I'm hoping her acting has improved. She certainly is no Sophia who absolutely rocked Tristan and Isolde.

Like sirensong said, Julia has a re-occuring role on CSI: New York. For a while there, I thought they were going to make her a love interest for Mac. I just read that during their season finale, one of the cast members will be killed off. Since several of the main cast members have signed new contracts, I figured it would have to be one of the side-characters. Now with this news, my money is on Julia Ormond getting killed off!

Julia Ormond was one of the leads The Curious Case of Benjamin Button!! She was the daughter. All of her scenes were with Cate Blanchette in the hospital.

Does that make a pick up any more likely? Or is that not related???
