I know some surgeons--they're all cocky as h*ll--and some transplant surgeons--and they're brainy-cocky. I can SO see Alex doing the brainy-cocky thing.

I agree with whoever said "Yablonsky=blue collar=tats." I am so there.

And if this show is about transplant stories told from the perspective of the recipient, the donor, and the doctor, I've got one word. Voiceover.

I cannot imagine they would really continue to film in Pittsburgh. Cold. Weather issues. Outside shots get difficult. Cast isn't used to that cold. Plus all the tech and support peeps are in Hollywood. Did I mention the cold? There is a REASON Hollywood happened in LA....

Okay...well this is just my optimism creeping in (I'm in PA ) but Alex did say that he was moving house. *crosses fingers...and toes...and everything else*

There are no plans for a CM spinoff, Rav, only NCIS spinoff.

Actually, Overdamoon, "Washington Field" is the spin off from Criminal Minds. It's being produced by the same people. The CM blog that has Alex's pictures on it talks about it.

And whoever asked which studio is going to be producing "Miami Trauma", it's Warner Bros. and we know how good they are about containing costs ("Speed Racer" anyone). Since Three Rivers is going to be produced by CBS Paramount Studios, that alone would give it the edge over Miami Trauma.

Thanks Amy, I didn't know that. With few open slots, I guess CBS may opt for either Washington Field or NCIS-2, but not both since they're both procedurals.

Red, I couldn't have said it better myself. I admire and respect Alex and will support him in any way I can. But I'll always love Moonlight. I think I'm hopelessly addicted. I don't want the cure. I just want to hang here with you wonderful people...however many of you there are... writing stories and talking about these wonderful characters, and imagining all the little bits of story that never got told...and all the tons and tons more story that stretch out to eternity.

And let's face it: I never again want to fall in love with a show the way I fell in love with Moonlight. It's incredibly inconvenient! Fun, wonderful, creative, exciting, inspirational... but inconvenient.

Sorry all, I can barely muster any enthusiasm. I really try to have an open mind. I really did. At first, I thought Cool! a McSteamy-ish kinda show for Alex!
Does this BlogTalkRadio blog below sound like Doctor Yablonski will get any sex or get to wear his tats or get wet? Okay, he may get wet in this show. 1 out of 3 ain't bad.

This pilot sounds intellectual, borderline documentary or reality show.

CBS orders "Three Rivers" pilot from Carol Barbee EP of Swingtown and Jericho, yay Carol !!!
CBS has given a greenlight for a pilot for Three Rivers created by Carol Barbee and will be Executive Produced by her as well as Curtis Hanson and Carol Fenelon.

Three Rivers centers upon organ transplants, with each story told from the point of view of the doctor, the recipient and the donor.

We look forward to CBS giving a series order for Three Rivers !!

Well, he has a better chance of having a sex life than a crime procedural like Washington Field or NCIS 2. What's the problem Lynne?..I think this sounds like a fine character driven show - what that what we all wanted? Besides I can't get the picture out of my head of those eyes emoting over the top of a surgical mask.

What, do you think it's some kind of reality show? I don't think so. Look at the shows these people have done before. All character dramas. As long as he gets most of the air time (and as the 'lead' I should imagine he will) then I'll be happy.

susie, I have to agree 100 percent. these actors are going to have to act their behinds off on a show like this. This show is not going for flash or how can we show a new way to murder this week, it is going for true emotion on what a family or person goes through during this time. I think this show sounds amazing, it's different and IMO this is the kind of show, that critics could love. I have not doubt that Alex will nail this part and if CBS approves and promotes this show, (here is wishing) this could be Alex's big break.

Regarding the lack of enthusiasm for a show involving transplants, let's not be disappointed just yet. First you have the donor's family who will have to make the heartrending decision to donate their loved one's organs. Then you have the recipient who's usually very close to death. And then you throw in in the transplant team who must race the clock to harvest the organs before time runs out. It should make for gripping drama, people.

One quick example which I heard a transplant surgeon discuss involved an older man in his 60s who was in dire need of a heart. He was so sick he'd been hospitalized so he could be monitored round the clock. His son arrived to give him the tragic news that his grandson had been killed in an accident. Shortly afterwards his surgeon arrived to tell him they'd found a perfect match. The perfect match was his grandson's heart. In his supreme grief, he refused to accept it, wishing to die instead. His son, however, refused to accept his father's decision and talked him into accepting his own grandson's heart.

All kinds of organs can be harvested. We often think of heart, kidneys, livers. What about corneas? You'd be giving the gift of sight to someone. Or your skin. A burn victim who's been horribly disfigured would welcome such a gift.

So let's not be disappointed about the subject matter. It's literally a matter of life and death.

That's the part that scares me about the pick up, Ma Fleurette, my rock(ette?).... something different... like ML was different... CBS doesn't like different... but hoping they'll go for it one more time with the Alex...
