Julia Ormond
I'd say she's probably best known for Legends of the Fall and First Knight, but she was also in a wonderful BBC film many years ago with Tim Roth, Captives, which remains an all-time favourite. I've seen her on stage, too, and she was very, very good.

Red I love that movie. Tim & Julia are superb in Captives.
This is good news that she is attached to TR. She's a good actress

and just a little coincidence, according to IMDB she is currently filming 'The Wronged Man" and the title of the book in OOTP was 'Wronged Man' - it's a small world

Yes, it's a favourite in my collection. I've watched it many, many times.

I'm a big Tim Roth fan

Since several of the main cast members have signed new contracts, I figured it would have to be one of the side-characters. Now with this news, my money is on Julia Ormond getting killed off!

Does that make a pick up any more likely? Or is that not related???
Grabbing at straws....?????
I wish I knew, Grace. Could be that she found out she was going to get the ax on CSI: NY and decided to sign on to Three Rivers. Could be anything...or just wishful thinking! But I'd like to think that her name added to the project is a good thing!

I agree that it sounds good Suz! I came across a little profile on her at askmen.com, not all that familiar with that, but her rating there was pretty high. I'd think men will tune in for her. I'd love to know who will be cast as his ex.

THR has updated its "
PilotWatch" section with the following info:
Three Rivers
> CBS Paramount
> Carol Barbee (w), Curtis Hanson, Carol Fenelon, Ted Gold, Dan Attias (d)
> Medical show about organ transplants seen through three points of view: the doctors, the donors and the recipients.
> Christopher J. Hanke, Justina Machado, Alex O'Loughlin, Katherine Moennig, Daniel Henney
They have been slower to update than lots of other sites, so I assume they were waiting until the casting was confirmed.

And a tiny snippet from TVguide.com:
http://www.tvguide.com/News/Pilot-Show- ... 04308.aspx
Among other CBS pilot castings, Julia Ormond will play the head of surgery at the titular hospital in Three Rivers, a medical drama also starring one Alex O'Loughlin. Ormond as of late has appeared in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and guested on CSI: NY.

I like the
"starring one Alex O'Loughlin". One, making him very special. Nice to see that they know just how special he really is, but then all they'd have to do is ask us!

Well I'm gonna go with that Susan... because it's comforting...
And TVG has always been supportive of Alex...
And I think it's great if Julia Ormond brings in male viewers... more eyes for the ONE Alex O.

In the latest round of pilot castings, Julia Ormond has been tapped as a lead on CBS' drama pilot "Three Rivers";
Oh. mi. god. I can't think of anyone more vacuous and insubstantial. I remember her in Sabrina and as Guinevere in First Knight.
Oh well. I'm hoping her acting has improved. She certainly is no Sophia who absolutely rocked Tristan and Isolde.
I'm with you lafluffy. When I've seen her, she always seemed very expressionless. She totally ruined Sabrina for me. I'm hoping she's okay in this because I don't think she'll have many scenes. If she's the 'Rene Russo' in scrubs {as described in the sides) she doesn't appear to have too many scenes in the pilot.
I must admit I didn't recognise her in Benjamin Button. If she was the daughter opposite Cate Blanchett then I didn't have a problem with her, so hopefully she's improved or I've relaxed.
As for Dr Andy's ex-wife. She's not in the pilot at all. I'll be very interested to see if we ever get to meet her or whether their relationship is a thing of the past and only mentioned not seen.

I must admit I was not overly impressed with Julia Ormond in Sabrina but I chalked it up to the fact there was no chemistry between her and Harrison Ford. He didn't make me believe he was in love with her. But I would think adding her to the cast would make it more likely for TR to get picked up. She's beautiful and a name so that can only help the show. And I keep going back to the fact that Alex chose this project over every thing that was offered to him and he had to have chosen it for very good reasons--great part for him and quality people to run the show.

The actress in Chocolat was Juliet Binoche, btw.
Gah. I get those two confused. Was Juliet Binoche in a movie a year or so ago with Ethan Hawke? Or am I just losing my mind with anyone name Julie, Julie, Julie, etc?!
Granted, Sabrina was not a great film, but I don't think she was all that bad in it--I just didn't see any chemistry between her and Harrison Ford.
