Big news from the team, from FB:

Searching For Sonny PICTURE LOCKED! Currently exporting the film to be colored at Hollywood DI

They're done!! :yahoo: :hyper2: :hyper2: :hyper2:

ETA: In case you're wondering what color-grading can do -- have a look at HDI's demo: http://www.hollywooddi.com/AP_Reel_480.mov

It's amazing.

Oh, I'm thrilled for them! Do you know how long it takes to do the color correction, Lilly? And by the way, that video is REALLY cool! Great song, great effects. And it shows you so much about what they do to the film. Wow!!

Last Friday, I asked Andrew Disney about the possibility of getting the film submitted to the Tribeca Film Festival. (The deadline was Monday.)

With his permission, this is his response. He's such a tease! :snicker:

"All I can tell you is that we have sent a cut of the film to a number of festivals. It's actually very customary for festivals to see films without color grading or final sound mix.

I will definitely let you know as soon as we know where we're going to premiere. Along with sound, color, and score we're also working on our distribution and marketing strategy.

Things are about to get super exciting."

And he followed up in another message with this:

"And let everyone know, we'll definitely want everyone's help in the near future. Things are gonna get fun."

:woohoo:

The film got a little mention on Zap2It today, in an article about Minka Kelly: http://blog.zap2it.com/pop2it/2011/01/m ... hotos.html

Every bit helps.

Hey, when did Josef get his own Coraline? Does Mick know about this? :snicker:

I swear, now every time I see a brunette in a red dinner dress, I think of Coraline.

Seriously, though, I'm intrigued to see this :drums: ... seems like we're always 'waiting' around here, huh?

Josef wouldn't be caught dead -- uh, well, you know -- in that ill-fitting hat and rumpled trench coat. :snicker:

It shouldn't be long now, though, HM. :hyper: They're really gearing up for a launch. I'm just selfishly hoping for an East Coast film festival. :fingerscrossed:

Any clue if it'll head over to the UK?

I'm sure they're hoping for the widest possible audience, but there is no announced distribution plan yet.

------------

Red Productions has just released a slick new reel of their projects and there are several clips from "Searching for Sonny" in there, including a couple of nice shots of Jason. :teeth: Some of them go by in the blink of an eye, though. I'll try to make a list of the times and post it shortly.
