Love Endures

We’ve been through a lot together, Beth and me. It seems like the deck was stacked against us from the very beginning, but somehow we’ve found a way to make the impossible possible. Our love isn’t simple. It’s had to adapt. And because of what I am, it can seem a little perverse. To be honest, I don’t like to think about that too much – it makes me feel like a stalker.

But she always finds a way through the barriers that separate us. She’s tenacious, my Beth. And she’s taught me how to let go of the word “never.”

This is perfect!

Mick has let go of the word, 'never' yet that could apply to so many different things:

it never ends well...
his certainty that he'll never Turn Beth...
it will never work between them...

But when you let go of never in one area, the resistance in the others loosen, too.

I love this.

It's never easy between Mick and Beth - it never will be easy. But Mick's right - Beth is tenacious and I can totally see her pushing Mick along, through his doubts and fears and coming out the other side.

This is so true. It's a learning process, but I think Beth and Mick tend to bring out the best in each other.

Yeah, that vamp is slow to change. But Beth is patient.

I think so too. They did a little dance on the show--every time Beth pushed him so hard he had to respond to her, she shied away again. But by the end, they got much more serious about each other. And I have great faith in them.

This is both Mick and Beth in a nutshell.

Beth and Mick's relationship has been difficult, dangerous, and complicated right from the start. However, that doesn't mean that it can't work between them. I'm certain that they'll find their way.

Alle, this is wonderful. There is so much going on beneath these few carefully chosen words. In spite of the regrets he harbors, Mick has let the light in. And that light is Beth. And the very first line tells us that he's changed...

At one time, he would have talked only about himself or about Beth -- separate entities. "I do this" or "She does that." This began with "we." It's such a small word, but it speaks volumes about how far they've come.
