Vampire Dreams (drabble) PG

I answer truthfully, but she’ll never understand.

What are my dreams in icy solitude?

Sometimes, they're nebulous: wispy, indistinct--drifting like smoke and leaving faint emotions in their wake: these she knows. I’ve seen them written on her sleeping face, and wished I could share.

Other times they're vivid, violent things and I can't look away: lured and fascinated, I'm both enraptured and repelled. They range higher and lighter, deeper and darker than anything behind her wide blue eyes. Whichever face I wear, she chooses just to see my human side.

Her mortal mind can't bear the dreams I dream…

Oh my, just beautiful ....and dealing so evocatively with one of my favorite Moonlight mysteries....what are the dreams of a vampire like? I love this concept of them, that they can be as far beyond human perception as all other vampire senses are. Or perhaps even further, the way Mick has described them here.

Very lovely! I am not a fan of the arbitrary drabble length , but this one flows perfectly and feels "just right." Maybe I especially like it because it's so very poetic. :cloud9:

Fantastic work, Jenna! :rose: I really like your concept of vampire dreams, and how Mick is held captive by them. :twothumbs:

This drabble makes a lot of sense, and flows very well.

Thank you! :flowers:

Lovely! Whatever Mick does, it always comes back to Beth. He so wants to be her hero.

Micks's duel nature always haunts him and he keeps it in check so Beth never sees the monster lurking behind those soulful hazel/blue eyes.

You have captured it perfectly. Beautifully done Jen.

Thank you so much!

The precise length of drabbles bothers me mainly because I rarely hit it. My word count said it was a hundred words, but it's been wrong before. I'm glad this worked for you.

When this started out, it was going to be one of my fluff pieces, but somewhere along the way it turned darker than I usually go.

I'm so glad it worked!

Thank you!!

Thank you!!!

There is really no substitute for writing. At some point, I am becoming more aware of using way too many words.

Glad this worked!

Totally agree. It is one of the things we love about him. He wants to be her hero so badly but is terrified he will let her down somehow.

Thank you for reading!!!

Thank you!

I've been listening to this tape in my head all day saying that I never should have posted this. Your kind words make me feel much better.

Thank you so much!!

I've often wondered if we would have seen Mick stumble and perhaps take steps into darkness in a second season. Personally, I think Mick's a great guy with an unusual diet and a sun allergy. Oh, and interesting dental work, but a good guy nonetheless.

Glad this worked!!!!

Hi Jen, thanks for taking us to one of the mysteries of vampirism - their dual natures, as someone said earlier. I got a little shiver reading this, not wanting to be drawn in to thinking about the sorts of dreams creatures such as this must have and yet being just as fascinated as I am repelled. I suspect these are something he protects Beth from.

You're probably right. Maybe one of the reasons he's drawn to her is because he thinks she can't imagine dreams like the dark ones that occasionally haunt him in his freezer. She may not choose to live there, but that doesn't mean she couldn't handle visiting from time to time.
