The Fountain

When I saw her walking barefoot through a freezing fountain at two in the morning, I should have stayed hidden.

But I didn’t.

When she saw me and starting walking towards me, I should have run away.

But I didn’t.

When she told me I looked familiar to her, that she thought she knew me from somewhere, I shouldn’t have felt a little happy about that.

Happy that deep down, she remembered me.

But I did.

Oh, MLC! That gave me the most wonderful little shiver.

What a beautifully balanced response to the challenge! It's remarkable that something even shorter than a drabble could convey so much about that meeting. We saw it on Mick's face -- and you captured it perfectly.

Wonderful, MLC Love Mick's should / didn't tug go war with himself. In the end though, he was happy know in some part of Beth remembered him.
