Well done, Lucky! :rose:

This was a fascinating read. The second-person point of view really made the story come alive. I was right there with the first-time freshie.
You’ve never felt more alive, and you’ve never been closer to death. You’ll be back.
 The bite, and all it encompasses, is addicting.

Thank you! :hearts:

Lucky - I'd completely forgotten about this one -- how hypnotic the rhythm and flow of your words are here. The second person POV works particularly well in this as a means of building intensity and urgency. It draws the reader in and -- as it was for the first-time freshie -- there's no turning back. Your writing is always so vivid, but this piece makes it personal.

I have no idea why I missed commenting on this before. I must have been speechless. :notworthy:

This is one of the truly great things about challenges--they encourage us to stretch a bit. I'd never have thought of writing anything in 2nd person, but hand me a challenge, and I'll give it a try.
