Remembering - PG

First drabble challenge I ever took up. Never realized I could say so much in 100 words.

REMEMBERING

“Do I know you?”

She doesn’t remember. She doesn’t remember the monster that took her or the monster that saved her. She doesn’t remember silver eyes or sharp teeth or animal screams. She doesn’t remember a bloodied face or a hand with bruised knuckles and broken skin that reached out to her to take her home. She doesn’t remember a fire, doesn’t know I killed the woman I loved to save her. She doesn’t know I’ve watched her from the fringes for all these years.

She doesn’t remember it and it surprises me how much that hurts.

“You tell me.”

Ah!! This is lovely!

When did you write this? I don't remember seeing this one before... but I love that he's thinking all that. (But it works out for him in the end... kinda cool to know that now).

Thank you, P.

The second time I watched NSTAV I wondered, "what is he thinking?"

Now I know. I think you are right on the money.

(The first time I watched it I thought, "OH MY GOD that guy's hot . . . who is he?")

LOL, SBJ...I thought the same thing, cuz I wasn't totally impressed with the first episode. But Alex was just so beautiful, I had to come back the next week. ;-)

*hands Lisa a napkin* Drool away, honey. :-)

grace, Lucky put out a challenge over at VLF months ago and that was my first attempt to meet it. Thanks for liking it. :-)

Thank you for this. I just watched NSTAV for the gazillionth time last night and this is perfection. Now I'm headed back to your stories to see if you did anything with the same ep when Beth awakes on Mick's couch and actually does remember...

Umm, *hangs head in shame* :blushing: I totally missed this before. Where was I when this was posted?

It's brilliant. 100 words of perfect knowledge what Mick thought, and I love it! :happysigh: :melts:

Thanks, susieb, for bringing this up! I somehow missed it before... and it's a treasure. :rose: I've always thought that was a very pregnant little pause between Beth's question and Mick's answer... and now I know what it was filled with...

Beautiful, Pgal. You drabble divinely...

I don't remember reading this one before either, PNW! Perfect drabble. Glad it popped up!

I'm always so pleasantly surprised when the oldies come to the surface...thanks, susbie! :rose: I'm glad you enjoyed it.

LOL, francis...I did this way back in the day on MLL. It was a drabble challenge I believe Lucky posted...take two lines and "fill in the blanks" in 100 words. (I'm thrilled you liked it!)

Thanks, Alle. :blushing: I'm so wordy, drabbles are a struggle...but I always thought Mick had a little "look" when Beth asked if she knew him.

Luxe, you're making me :blushing:...but thank you! :smooch:

Thanks, MLC! :smooch: It's a bit banged up at the corners from being moved around some...but I'm glad you enjoyed it.

This was great. It brings back such memories of Mick and Beth's first meeting as grown-ups.

I have to admit I don't remember reading this before either here or on MLL. But with age also comes forgetfulness sometimes.

Anyway thank you so much.

*steps forward* Yep. I missed it too.

But what a treat to find it now! I just love this, Miss P. The repetition and rhythm here give it the sense of half a dozen thoughts quickly flooding his mind as he looks at her. In the space of that pause, so many feelings and then just enough time to collect himself and reply. Just perfect. :notworthy:

I came in for a re-read of this, because I love it. But I find I am totally distracted by your avi.
