Moonlight is now No. 1 television dvd on The-Numbers.com most recent chart that just came out today! This chart closely mirrors Billboard's chart, but uses a different source for its statistics. YEAH!!!!!!!!

#1 for TV show and #22 overall.
Moonlight: 56,931 sold!

Which equates to $1.5m worth of sales.

Wow.

Irritatingly, Moonlight is one of only two DVDs in the top 30 chart that doesn't hot link to allow you to purchase.

I had been checking there, but the figure weren't out this morning.

It looks like sales totaled $1,479,637. Not bad at all.

Tho if I remember correctly, that doesn't even pay for one episode of the show... right?

Moonlight is also at No. 50 in the Top 50 Best Selling DVDs of 2009 on The Numbers site. Unbelievable! I think someone should email this to WB/SP! Who would have believed that our little show could achieve this much in it's first week of sales!

It's only sold 4950 units less than 'The X Files - I Want To Believe' which was released on December 2nd! I'd be extremely surprised if it didn't move higher up the charts next week.

Way to go guys - keep buying the DVDs!

Fantastic news that doesn't surprise me a bit.

I was not expecting that at all !
Which so many few copies in each store, very few stores selling the DVD and stores like Walmart being out of stock so soon....
I think that for a TV show DVD to be in the list next to Movies DVD is huge...I mean How much cost a movie to make if you compare it to a TV show??
I bet WB was not expecting this either.....

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I thought you all might want to know...

Moonlight has fallen off the list of 30 Top Selling DVDs for the week ending 2/1/2009 at The-numbers.com.

None of the DVDs currently in the top 30 are from television shows. The DVD in the last position sold 45,236 units, so we know ML came in somewhere below that. I've submitted a question to see if I can get some more information on exact figures and will let you know if I hear anything.

That seems a little strange, seeing as how I just read somewhere recently where it was really high on the Billboard list of dvds. It also seemed to be selling fairly well at amazon.com.

I just checked Amazon, and in the pile with movies and everything, ML is 16th.

I guess each place has it's own way of keeping track.
#16--including all dvds is excellent for a little show that barely aired.

I saw that too Lisa, but when I looked, it wasn't in the top ten on Billboard.

One thing to keep in mind is that when Moonlight debuted at number 22 on this list for the week ending 1/25/2009, it was the ONLY television show on the list. So, if we compare apples to apples and TV shows to TV shows, ML is doing very well.

And on Amazon, there are NO tv shows ahead of ML in the dvd bestsellers.

None. Whatsoever.
