Thank you, starbucksjunkie.
Thank you, Onezebra. Maybe your hubby would be inspired by some stargazing to go outside?
And living vicariously through someone else's romance, that never happens - that's why it's called fiction. :snicker:

Francis,
this is a lovely and sweet story, I love the slow and poetic way you use to describe this phase of their relationship, where everything is new, mysterious and exciting...they do not actually live together, but they are finally together, getting closer day by day, present after present ... And, oh my, this man is such a gem indeed.. he took her stargazing in the desert, what a thought ( you know, I actually have an interview where Alex  describes such a scene as his ideal- but not yet experienced- kind of date . Maybe you should mail him this story)

Francis, this is just wonderful! You've painted such a romantic picture of love with a strong basis in friendship. I like the way you have Mick and Beth really thinking about each other as they choose their gifts. That makes it so romantic. :happysigh:

Reread this again and at the right time. I needed a bit of MickBeth charm today!

The first thing that struck me was how comfortable they are at this stage. The awkwardness of the early days has shifted into the comfort of sharing their lives. Adored the line where Beth wondered where difficult and complicated had gone. This was effortless--just being close to someone you love.

And Mick is as entertained and charmed as Beth. His little gifts were small symbols of his thoughtfulness and Beth was charmed before she learned of their association.

His reaction to her gift was just sweet and once again shows us he is equally smitten.

Living vicariously? Us?? :snicker:

This was wonderful, Francis! So romantic, so sweet, so caring... :cloud9:

Both of the gifts given were very thoughtful. Mick gave Beth a wonderful experience, while Beth gave him a symbol of her trust in him.

Thank you! :rose:
