Anyone know if they do this for all their dvd's?
It is fun to visit... but I'm wondering its purpose. Do they think it will help them sell DVD's?

Sorry, Grace, I have no idea. I was too distracted by all the prettiness....

OMG that gave me chills. My heart is pounding out of my chest. The music alone without the rest does it.
I cannot tell you the range of emotions I am having right now!!

Still haven't found the DVD for sale in Oz yet.

You'll know when I find it though. You won't see me for at least 24 hrs ... I'll be glued to the TV instead.

Well, it's fine and dandy that WB did a micro promotion of the DVD products, and Mick went from our mailboxes to our kitchens to our dining room tables and then finally to our bedrooms where the TVs usually are but... (You knew there was a but in there, didn't you?

)
Somebody who's a friend of a friend of a friend who works at WB inquired WB about their DVD shortage or lack of mass circulation for the DVD and here's the answer. :badputer:
"... has a friend who has a friend who works at WB. Just so everyone understands this is coming through a couple of people so I can't verify it. The friend was told that WB never meant the Moonlight DVD for "mainstream sales because WB didn't think it would sell well across the board. The target audience was the Moonlight fans. This DVD is basically sold online with a few scattered copies among stores in certain areas, mostly near larger cities". The person at WB said that "in some areas of the United States, Moonlight won't be sold in any store. If someone wants it, they will have to order it online". The person at WB said that "WB doesn't expect Moonlight to be a big seller because the general public knows nothing about the show, so statistics show that they will not purchase the DVD". (I'm hoping the reruns on SCI FI wil change that.) It is also my understanding that the same is true of movie rental stores. Some will have it, some won't.
Just when I thought WB was doing something neat with that e-mail, then they don't distribute the DVD to stores nationwide! We can't get the sales numbers up if WB is going to make it so difficult to buy the DVD. Maybe someone who doesn't know anything about the show would be browsing, think it looks interesting, and buy it. WB, take a risk!
I do know the DVD is available on line at Amazon, DeepDiscount, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and WB's own DVD store. FYE had it online, but it is currently out-of-stock according to their site. I haven't checked a K-Mart or FYE store. "

ODM, thanks for the info. Just a reminder to all that this is at least third hand, so make your own judgements. I'm just happy to see some promo, see the DVD doing well on Amazon and knowing that it's back on Sci Fi in the US.

Guess who just returned from Target and bought the last 2 ML's on display?
(this works better if you imagine me saying the above in a sing-songy voice)
Target has a nice photo above the new dvds released with a Mick pic and info about the series.
Plus, I raved about it to the cashier, just doing my part.

that's great, thanks Red. Just checked it out. Loved the dripping blood!!
Oh and that photo! I think this clears up any mystery about Mick's eye color - they're clearly blue.

Oh LdL you *have* to check out the Alex pics thread. There are some definite green-eyed close ups there....
And I mean close-ups.
