Oh I'm another one, had I read your story I too would have flung mine into the bin. :scary:

So good PNW, just a delight to read and feel the raw emotion flowing from both of them, bonding. And... I'm really glad Beth got out before Josef caught her, that wouldn't have been pretty. I enjoyed this! Great writing, great story-telling. Just great! :thanks:

This is a great story. Would have liked to have seen it this way on screen but we can pretend. Thank you.

PNWgal, Would have loved to see this played out on TV, but that's a different story...I really feel for both characters here, especially poor Mick. Good for Beth for still caring for him and not fleeing into the night.
I just love this line:
She'd fit against him like she was the missing piece of his puzzle and, starved for affection and contact, he had gathered her against him.

Just beautiful... :hearts:

Very nice gap-filler - elegant in its simplicity and perfectly plausible. Beause I think Beth did not hang around after ep. 2 - otherwise she wouldn't have had doubts about Mick being a vampire at the beginning of ep. 3.

I just wonder - would Josef really kill Beth that quickly? (I'm not excluding it, though!) I mean, all his freshies know about vampires (and I've always wondered about their life expectancy as well...)

Bye, Kade

Absolutely lovely. And very plauible.

I think Beth would not walk away from someone who had saved her life a short time before. Someone who her friend had said had been shot by Lee Jay Spaulding.

We know from later episodes how seriously the vampire community is about their secrecy, and Beth had gotten on their radar screen with the 'Vampire Slaying Rocks L.A.' story that set Josef off earlier, but from Mick's willingness to answer her questions, it is clear that he doesn't completely share the obsession (even though when he let her into his loft at the beginning of Episode 3 to discuss what she had 'seen', he did look to see if there was anyone else out there (camera crew maybe?)

There I go again. Sorry. The was a delightful exposition on a scene that was much too short. It left us wanting much more.

Thank you!

PNW, this was great. I just love reading fics that fill in the gaps, and you did a great job filling in this gap. But although I would also have loved to see these fics portrayed on the screen, I don’t think they would have been so creatively written and so lovingly handled as they are here in our fanfic world, so I’m perfectly happy to read them here and imagine the scenes in my own head. Just wanted to make sure you talented writers know that.

This line was so heart-wrenching:
PNWgal wrote:She'd been so beautiful, so brave wading through that cold water and everything inside him longed for him to matter to her, just a little.

And as many have mentioned, this is the essence of them and of the Moonlight story in general:
PNWgal wrote:It was best for her if she never came back. It would kill him if she didn't.
one.zebra wrote:PNW, hold on a sec., got a little problem to take care of first.../scruffle, scratch,shuffle....aha! pulls Red's story from 'bin' ..(silly foreigners)/

Red?
Me and my band of fanfic readers Image will not tolerate you tossing your stories like this!

Each WONDERFUL writer has their OWN style, unique to you...so no more of this..the breadth, dept and diversity of talent we have here is what we LOVE so much...
OK, /wipes hands/..
LOL, OZ – and I completely agree! I’m off to read hers soon. She better not scrap any of her work!

But all these comments make me wonder – in AU, what would have happened if Beth had not left before Josef arrived…? Has this little plot bunny hopped to life anywhere?

Thanks, jen (and everyone else I neglected to thank the first time around! :slaphead: )! This was one of those fics that just...popped right out. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

PNW, I loved it!
Ans I join with Liana in asking for a follow-up.... please. :curtesy:

And Red, is there a way we can read the 'bin' stories as well? :rose:
We are greedy and insatiable little beggers, as you know!

Read it again!

My favorite line of this piece is at the end.
It was best for her if she never came back. It would kill him if she didn't.
So very good. Hence all the rereads. There will be more

Thanks

Jenna

Just popped in for a re-read. This is still wonderful and beautiful and, for me, perfect, PNWgal.

And that's why, for all those who were kind enough to mention it, my fic really did go (unfinished) into the trash. Once I'd read this, there was nothing else to say about this scene.

It's that good.
