Okay, color me confuzzled. I thought Jason was to star in "The Washingtonienne" on HBO. Well, the Hollywood Reporter is now reporting that Jason will star, alongside Minka Kelly ("Friday Night Lights), in a pilot show on the CW called "Body Politic".
Here's the article:

I guess HBO didn't pick up Sara Jessica Parker's pilot, or the CW swooped in with a fresher idea. Looks like Kelly will play a young lady that travels to WDC to work for the newly appointed Attorney General, played by Tim Matheson. Jason appears to have a bigger role and will play a reporter for the Washington Post. Perhaps her love interest?
Very, very interesting!
Go Jason!

So maybe they didn't pick up the other show?
Or his part was small and he can be in 2 shows?
And this is also just a pilot... so does that mean it may or may not get picked up for the fall?

I guess Jason is in the same boat as Alex, hoping the network will pick up the pilot. Since I don't know how big a role he has/had in "The Washingtonienne", it could be that he can do both. Or maybe it didn't get picked up by HBO as we had been led to believe. Who knows!

I just hope he gets one of the two picked up. The role in "Body Politic" sounds more interesting to me and could be a bigger role. "The Washingtonienne" sounds like an ensemble cast.
Go Jason! We're behind you...no matter what you end up doing!

Here's another article about it:

The CW is hoping that by pairing the stars of some beloved, low-rated shows, they can score a big hit.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Minka Kelly and Jason Dohring have been been cast in The CW's pilot "Body Politic."
The drama focuses on a group of attractive young staffers working in Washington.
The trade paper says that Kelly will play a young woman who, grieving the loss of her mother, heads to the Beltway, where her estranged father (Tim Matheson) has just been appointed Attorney General. She joins his staff.
Dohring will play a young reporter at the Washington Post, which means he may be out of a job before the pilot even gets to series.
Kelly plays Lyla Garrity on NBC's "Friday Night Lights." The show's third season, currently showing to tiny audiences on NBC after a fall run on DirecTV, is Lyla's senior year, so even if "Friday Night Lights" were to return -- and indications are that renewal is seeming increasingly likely -- she wouldn't be a regular.
You may also have seen Kelly on "What I Like About You" or in a tiny role in "The Kingdom." She also pops up in July's "500 Days of Summer," which played to rave reviews at Sundance.
Dohring has now had the honor of appearing on two cult favorites. He got three seasons out of his turn as Logan Echolls on UPN and The CW's "Veronica Mars," but his return to the small screen in "Moonlight" lasted a single season on CBS. Dohring had most recently shot the HBO pilot "Washingtonienne."

And one more article:

Jason Dohring ("Veronica Mars") and Minka Kelly ("Friday Night Lights") will star in the new series about optimistic up-and-coming staffers in Washington. Kelly will play Hope, an all-American girl who leaves her life in Michigan after the death of her mother and heads to D.C., where her long-lost dad, Sen. Webster (Tim Matheson), has just been appointed Attorney General, and takes a job on his staff. Dohring will play a reporter with the Washington Post

I thought Washingtienne had started production in February. But actors do tend to try to be in as many pilots as possible in the hopes of one being picked up. Also HBO and CW would have a different shooting schedule so maybe he could do both.

Good luck to him. Can he do both...if the pilot gets picked up? Since he's in Washington anyway. Maybe that's why he chose this pilot...
